What if the life you've been chasing isn't actually the life you want?
From an early age, most of us inherit a script for success. Work hard. Earn more. Buy more. Keep moving. Keep climbing. Keep proving that you're doing well. But what happens when you follow that script and still feel that something is missing?
If nobody could see your life from the outside, would you still choose the path you are on today?
Drawing on psychology, philosophy, personal reflection, and practical wisdom, this thought-provoking book explores how consumer culture, social comparison, status seeking, and the pursuit of "more" can pull us away from what truly matters. It offers a compelling alternative: building a life guided by purpose rather than performance.
Inside, you'll discover:Why conventional definitions of success often leave people feeling unfulfilledHow the "consumer script" influences your goals, spending, career choices, and sense of selfThe role courage plays in creating a life that aligns with your valuesHow relationships, mindset, and environment shape your direction in lifeWhy time—not money—is your most valuable resourcePractical insights on money, debt, investing, and financial decisions that support a purposeful lifeHow to navigate setbacks, criticism, uncertainty, and change without losing sight of what matters most
This is not a book about abandoning ambition, rejecting success, or living with less simply for the sake of it. It is about ensuring that the life you build is genuinely yours.
Whether you feel stuck on a treadmill of achievement, overwhelmed by expectations, or simply curious about what a more meaningful life might look like, Finding Your Purpose offers a refreshing perspective and a powerful invitation to pause, reflect, and choose consciously.
Because purpose is not something you discover once.
It is something you create through the choices you make every day.

    The Health of Human Trafficking...

Slavery has existed since ancient times, was integral to building most civilizations, and was written into the Code of Hammurabi (Wells, 2008). It has appropriately been called “the world’s oldest trade” (Vink, 2003). Although Mauritania became the last country in the world to criminalize slavery in 2007, it is estimated there are over 45 million people enslaved worldwide today (McDougall, 2015; Walk Free Foundation, 2016). By means of comparison, historians generally agree approximately 12 million slaves were traded during the entire 400-year Trans-
Atlantic slave trade (Manning, 1992; Nunn, 2008).
Modern-day slavery is also known as human trafficking and has been documented in all 50 states (U.S. Department of State, 2016). Although the United States and international communities have cooperated to outlaw trafficking activities and protect victims with the passage of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) in 2000, much of the focus has been on legal protection. Little progress has been made in addressing the health needs of victims of human trafficking (Hom & Woods, 2013). Human trafficking harms people physically and emotionally, but health is the least understood aspect of the trafficking process. Notably, trafficking has been called a “public health crisis”, and a “pandemic” (de Chesnay, 2013, p. 901; Goodwin Veenema, Thornton, & Corley, p. 864). The health care response, however, has been “largely neglected in anti-trafficking work”, particularly when compared to efforts in law enforcement, immigrant law, and public policy (Zimmerman, Hossain, & Watts, 2011, p. 327).

The Rent or Buy Decision -...

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. The Rent or Buy Decision: Numbers, Emotions, and Timing is a comprehensive guide to one of life’s most significant and emotionally charged choices—whether to continue renting a home or take the leap into ownership. Written in a clear, accessible style, the book unpacks this age-old dilemma by weaving together financial insights, cultural influences, emotional triggers, and practical strategies that affect millions of individuals and families around the world.

At its heart, the book argues that the housing decision is never just about money. Numbers certainly matter—calculations of EMIs versus rent, the hidden costs of ownership, property appreciation, inflation, and opportunity costs all shape the financial landscape. Yet alongside these numbers live deeper, more personal questions: Do you seek the security of permanence, or do you crave the flexibility of movement? Do you feel social and cultural pressure to buy, or are you comfortable choosing independence on your own terms? How do emotions like pride, fear of missing out, and the desire for legacy influence your choices? The book balances these psychological realities with economic reasoning to give readers a fuller picture.

Across twenty well-structured chapters, The Rent or Buy Decision takes readers on a journey. Early chapters explore the cultural weight of homeownership, the pride it symbolizes, and the subtle pressures it creates. Later chapters dig into the hidden layers of both renting and buying—mortgages, down payments, taxes, and maintenance—as well as the often-overlooked costs of renting, such as instability and lack of equity. Emotional dimensions, including generational shifts, the impact of social identity, and the contrast between security and flexibility, add nuance that pure financial analysis cannot capture.
