Sinopse

"Magic is a fact of life, like murder, sex and monsters."

So says Dinewan, the old aboriginal witch doctor with bright orange eyes. In this final installment of the Bunyip series, what began from family legend will culminate in a zoological hunt of the millennium.

Tristram Jones and his teacher, Ivan MacAllister, must again contend with Dinewan. His tactics have become more dangerous and determined; the lines have been drawn and the stakes have never been higher.

From the university to the wild high country, Tristram once again follows the call of the mysterious Bunyip. It will be the last time he does.

Bunyip is a modern tale influenced by much older stories and spiced with science, legend and sensual experiences. It is gruesome in places, funny in others and tender where it counts.

This book is intended for a mature readership and is not suitable for readers under the age of 18.

This book has been written for you.
In 2018, Ben’s world collapsed around him when he unexpectedly lost his brother to suicide.

So read it, remember it and pass it on – it could save your life.
In this deeply personal and inspirational autobiography, Ben West shares his journey through grief and depression, offering self-help strategies and psychology insights. Overcome with mental anguish, Monica A. Coleman's great-grandfather had his two young sons pull the chair out from beneath him when he hanged himself. That noose remained tied to a rafter in the shed, where it hung above the heads of his eight children who played there for years to come.

As it had for generations before her, a heaviness hung over Monica throughout her young life. As an adult, this rising star in the academy saw career successes often fueled by the modulated highs of undiagnosed Bipolar II Disorder, as she hid deep depression that even her doctors skimmed past in disbelief. Serendipitous encounters with Black intellectuals like Henry Louis Gates Jr., Angela Davis, and Renita Weems were countered by long nights of stark loneliness. Only as Coleman began to face her illness was she able to live honestly and faithfully in the world. And in the process, she discovered a new and liberating vision of God.

Written in crackling prose, Monica's spiritual autobiography examines her long dance with trauma, depression, and the threat of death in light of the legacies of slavery, war, sharecropping, poverty, and alcoholism that masked her family history of mental illness for generations.

'I entered Goldenbridge orphanage in my Communion outfit. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing there.'At age seven, Bernadette Fahy was delivered with her three brothers to Goldenbridge Orphanage. She was to stay there until she was sixteen.
Goldenbridge has come to represent some of the worst aspects of childrearing practices in Ireland of the 1950s and 1960s. Seen as the offspring of people who had strayed from social respectability and religious standards, these children were made to pay for the 'sins' of their parents. Bernadette tells of the pain, fear, hunger, hard labour and isolation experienced in the orphanage.
Can a person recover from such a childhood? How does the spirit ever take flight -- and gain the 'freedom of angels'?
This is Bernadette Fahy's concern. Now trained and working as a counsellor, she has had to dig deeply into her past to understand the patterns laid down by her upbringing. She has had to rebuild her life, and now she helps others to do the same.
This book is a story of triumph over the harshest of circumstances.
