Sinossi

Maths by Example (foundation) follows the same idea as the successful Science by Example series where it is based upon exams style questions with fully explained answers, written in an easy-to-follow way so the student can easily learn and practice maths questions and concepts. GCSE maths questions: The book contains around 360 exam-style questions with each having the answer fully explained and solved in a step-by-step fashion. The answers are easy to follow and are presented in a simple way alongside professionally produced diagrams. The GCSE maths revision book:All of our guides are written with the student in mind. The book contains 19 chapters, each separate so the student can easily ‘dip in and out’ of the book depending on what they are revising. Most chapters have a short reminder of key facts and ideas, followed by lots of example questions with the answers fully explained in an easy-to-follow way. They then have self-assessment sections with the answers in the back of the book. Lastly, there are hints and tips for the student to try and help with common mistakes and misconceptions. AQA revision guide and other syllabi:This book is based on the AQA syllabus, but it is suitable for all the other exam boards like Edexcel or OCR as they all have just about the same content, they are just arranged differently. Practice questions:If you need practice questions to help with your GCSE maths revision, this book is probably the best resource out there because you don’t just get the answers, you also get the answer explained to you.

The intriguing, in-depth story of the most powerful woman in Canadian politics. *A NATIONAL BESTSELLER*

Catherine Tsalikis traces Chrystia Freeland's remarkable journey from the northwestern Alberta town of Peace River to Moscow, London, and New York, where she spent two decades as a journalist, to the halls of Parliament Hill as deputy prime minister and finance minister in Justin Trudeau's Liberal government. Ambitious and talented with a work ethic to match, Freeland has had an impressive run since she entered politics in 2013: spearheading major trade negotiations, expertly navigating relations with an erratic US president, speaking out about human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia, and standing up to Vladimir Putin's aggressions in Ukraine.

With her impeccable research, seasoned perspective, and accessible style, Tsalikis brings Freeland's story to life. The defining moments and experiences that shaped Freeland's particular worldview illuminate the answers to larger social questions: how to live a good, useful life; how to hold fast to guiding principles; how to break through glass ceilings. This is a unique behind-the-curtains look at Canadian politics through the story of a trailblazing woman.

Individuals who decide to take up learning about the Old Testament of the Bible are immediately faced with the difficult proposition of identifying the various peoples that the Hebrews met and sometimes came into conflict with when they entered the territory that eventually became Israel. The Moabites and Edomites were just two of the many Canaanite groups that the Hebrews dealt with, often violently, but there were dozens of other Canaanite groups, which were all for the most part identified through the names of their respective cities.
In fact, before the Hebrews established a kingdom and before the Phoenicians colonized much of the Mediterranean, the Canaanites were the most important group in the Levant for much of the Bronze Age and into the early Iron Age. Although the Canaanites never created a unified nation-state or kingdom, their importance in the ancient Near East cannot be understated. It was at least partially because of that fact that the Canaanites were unable to resist their larger and more powerful neighbors that the average person today knows so little about their history, but modern studies have revealed that they developed a unique religion that influenced non-Canaanite peoples and continued to be practiced in some form centuries after the Canaanites ceased to be an identifiable people. Furthermore, during the height of the Bronze Age the Canaanites provided important resources to the Egyptian and Hittite Empires and played a key role in the geopolitical game of chess between those two kingdoms. It also goes without saying that the Canaanites were also a factor in the establishment of the Kingdom of Israel, as the battles they lost to the Hebrews later became the foundation of the Jewish kingdom.
Although the Old Testament provides a credible source for some aspects of Philistine culture, it paints a picture of them as a group of bloodthirsty warriors whose one purpose was to oppress the Hebrews/Israelites.

This book will prove controversial for several reasons, the main one being that it shows the vanquishing of the ancient cultural beliefs, of the ancient cultures, primarily around the Mediterranean that come today to be called 'paganism'. This was not a one-off event. The victory of monotheism was the latest phase in an ongoing battle between Monotheism and what we can call the 'Heliopean Pantheons'. Other contentious topics are innovative ideas affecting ancient Egyptian history and Biblical Dream Misinterpretation. Other topics are also discussed such as the proposed 'Wave Nature of Cultures' and 'Cultural Compression'.
