Soon he's on a rollercoaster of erotic highs and lows that sometimes break his heart as his wife searches for other men--and women--to satisfy her needs!

~~~~~ PG Excerpt ~~~~~
Tim had seen her walk in, like nearly every other man in the bar. He’d been alone and lonely since before he’d walked in, and not being a part of a group, he expected to go home alone.
Tim saw her push her chair back under her table as she said a few words to her friends. Then, Marcia walked toward him, and he was seized by a moment of panic. She could have been heading to the bar or the restroom, but he knew she wasn’t. Marcia was twisting a ring on her right hand and coming straight toward him. Tim stood as though petrified, unsure what game she was playing.
As she drew near, Marcia was pleased by the look of surprise on his face. He was tall, well over six feet, and wore long dark hair and a dark mustache. There was nothing unusual about his clothes, showing neither wealth nor poverty.
He had to bend toward her to hear what she had to say in the noisy bar. “You remind me of Heathcliff from the latest Wuthering Heights movie.” She’d watched the movie three times because of her intense physical reaction to the actor. The third time she’d masturbated whenever he was on the screen. Unlike some of her girlfriends, Marcia had never fantasized about taking an actor or a movie character to bed. But, she’d have spread her legs for Heathcliff.
“I do?” Although he'd heard of the book, Tim hadn’t seen the movie. “Is that good or bad?”
“It’s good, I think. You’re tall and dark and mysterious looking. Maybe even pensive. Are you pensive?” Marcia asked, smiling and trying not to appear nervous, which caused her already soft voice to become even harder to hear.
“It must be because I’m not mysterious. I’m Tim, by the way, and this table just opened up. Would you have a drink with me?”
“I would.” Liquor loosened the tight control Marcia tried to keep on her raging libido. Tim looked even more like the actor up close, and she loved how the English actor had looked. She’d loved his appearance so much she’d dreamt of him sweeping her away and ravishing …
“What are you thinking,” Tim interrupted.
“I was thinking of how much you resembled the actor.”
“You said that was a good thing; how good was it?” Tim asked.
“I dreamt that he had his way with me,” Marcia smiled back at him. Tim was momentarily struck dumb by the radiance of her smile and the x-rated content of her words.
“I’d love to sweep you off your feet and have my way… Sorry, I don’t mean to offend you.”
“Were you going to say you wanted to have your way with me?”
“Yes, again, I apologize.”
“Repeat after me,” Marcia said, looking into his eyes. “Marcia, I want to take you back to your apartment and ravish you.”
Tim swallowed hard, and his adam’s-apple bobbed in his throat. “Marcia, I want to take you back to your apartment and ravish you.”
“Great,” she said. “Now stand, and let’s go.”
    In 'Becoming a Philosopher' Jonathan Rée describes the extraordinary lives of some of most influential thinkers of the past four hundred years and the radical and sometimes bizarre ideas that emerged from them. In so doing he challenges the notion of philosophy as a set of fixed ideas to be arranged and catalogued like botanical specimens. Rather, the philosophical life is revealed, as Kierkegaard has described, as one of relentless struggle, a never-ending 'dance in the service of thought' which might, with luck, result in a single fresh idea.This collection of ten biographical pieces, originally published as book reviews in the London Review of Books, begins with Spinoza, the excommunicated lens grinder who sought as little attention as possible for his anonymously published work; and ends with Sartre, the most public of public intellectuals whose funeral was marked by thousands on the streets of Paris. In between we find Newton working tirelessly to establish a chronology of the ancient world; Hegel gazing on Napoleon as he marches through Jena in 1806; and Wittgenstein drawing up plans for a new kind of propeller before writing his landmark Tractatus in the trenches of the First World War. Alongside them we also meet Leibniz, Hume, Lessing, Kierkegaard and Collingwood.This audiobook also features an introductory conversation between Jonathan Rée and Thomas Jones, an editor at the LRB and presenter of the LRB Podcast.Subjects covered: Spinoza, Newton, Leibniz, Hume, Lessing, Hegel, Kierkegaard, Wittgenstein, Collingwood, Sartre.These pieces have been amended in places from the original for the purposes of recording.
    Fear swept Zhenjiang as British soldiers gathered outside the city walls in the summer of 1842. Already suspicious of foreigners, locals had also heard of the suffering the British inflicted two months earlier, in Zhapu. A wave of suicides and mercy killings ensued: rather than leave their families to the invaders, hundreds of women killed themselves and their children or died at the hands of male family members. British observers decried an "Asian culture" of ritual suicide. In reality, the event was sui generis—a tragic result of colliding local and global forces in nineteenth-century China.
    Xin Zhang's groundbreaking history examines the intense negotiations between local societies and global changes that created modern China. In the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, world-historic political, economic, and technological developments transformed the textures of everyday life in places like Zhenjiang, a midsize river town in China's prosperous Lower Yangzi region. Drawing on rare primary sources, including handwritten diaries and other personal writings, Zhang offers a ground-level view of globalization in the city.
    Far from passive recipients, the Chinese leveraged, resisted, and made change for themselves. The Global in the Local argues that globalization is inevitably refracted through local particularities.
    "The Elements of Style is an American English writing style guide in numerous editions. The original was written by William Strunk Jr. in 1918, and it was published by Harcourt in 1920, comprising eight "elementary rules of usage," ten "elementary principles of composition," "a few matters of form," a list of 49 "words and expressions commonly misused," and a list of 57 "words often misspelled." Strunk concentrated on the cultivation of good writing and composition; the original 1918 edition exhorted writers to "omit needless words," use the active voice, and employ parallelism appropriately."
    A major new history of North and South Korea, from the late nineteenth century to the present day
    Korea has a long, riveting history—it is also a divided nation. South Korea is a vibrant democracy, the tenth largest economy, and is home to a world-renowned culture. North Korea is ruled by the most authoritarian regime in the world, a poor country in a rich region, and is best known for the cult of personality surrounding the ruling Kim family. But both Koreas share a unique common history.
    Victor Cha and Ramon Pacheco Pardo draw on decades of research to explore the history of modern Korea, from the late nineteenth century, Japanese occupation, and Cold War division to the present day. A small country caught amongst the world's largest powers—including China, Japan, Russia, and the United States—Korea's fate has been closely connected to its geography and the strength of its leadership and society. This comprehensive history sheds light on the evolving identities of the two Koreas, explaining the sharp differences between North and South, and prospects for unification.
    A definitive study on the decades-long run of high public confidence in the military and why it may rest on some shaky foundations.
    What explains the high levels of public confidence in the US military and does high confidence matter? In Thanks for Your Service, the eminent civil-military relations scholar Peter D. Feaver addresses this question and focuses on what it means for the military. Proprietary survey data show that confidence is partly based on public beliefs about the military's high competence, adherence to high professional ethics, and a determination to stand apart from the bitter divisions of partisan politics. However, as Feaver argues, confidence is also shaped by a partisan gap and by social desirability bias, the idea that some individuals express confidence in the military because they believe that is the socially approved attitude to hold. Not only does Feaver help us understand how and why the public has confidence in the military, but he also exposes problems that policymakers need to be aware of. Specifically, this book traces how confidence in the institution shapes public attitudes on the use of force and may not always reinforce best practices in democratic civil-military relations.
