Sinossi

The insistent theme of Mr. Dreiser's work is desire, perennial, unquenchable. No matter how badly Mr. Dreiser might do his work, he would be significant as the American novelist who has most felt this subterranean current of life. Many novelists have seen this current as a mere abyss of sin from which the soul is to be dragged to the high ground of moral purpose and redemption, but this will not quite do. The great interpreters see life as a struggle between this desire and the organized machinery of existence, but they are not eager, as we are, to cover up and belittle the desire.

Amnesia, G.H. Ephron's acclaimed debut, introduced forensic neuropsychologist and expert defense witness Dr. Peter Zak. Returning in Addiction, Peter is back in the thick of things at the Pearce Psychiatric Center, coping with patients as well as everyday average administrative nightmares at the hospital, like budgetary concerns, construction, and colleagues' drug trials. And then the worst nightmare of all-the murder of a colleague.Such an event, if it weren't devastating enough, rekindles Peter's memories of the murder of his wife, which left Peter emotionally shattered and isolated; he's only recently begun to emerge. But he can't retreat this time; he must use his expertise to help reconstruct this baffling and intensely personal killing.Peter discovers his friend and former lover, Pearce psychiatrist Channing Temple, dead from a gunshot wound on hospital grounds. Her 16-year-old daughter Olivia is standing over the body, holding a gun. Did Olivia, who has been abusing Ritalin and other drugs, kill her mother? Peter thinks not, but she is quickly arraigned for murder, and he has only two weeks to find the killer before Olivia is sent to prison. In this tense and compelling second installment in a highly lauded series, the talented writing team known as G.H. Ephron tackles the dangers and misconceptions surrounding addiction...and the chaos of murder.

What did Lazarus see beyond the veil of death?
In this haunting masterpiece of psychological and philosophical fiction, Leonid Andreyev conjures a vision of resurrection unlike any ever imagined. Lazarus is not a tale of triumph over death—but of what death leaves behind.
Strange, unsettling, and metaphysical, this is the story of a man raised from the grave only to cast a cold, unblinking gaze back upon the living. Wherever he walks, beauty withers, joy dissolves, and the veneer of meaning slips away. Those who look into his eyes do not die—they unravel.
Written in a feverish prose that borders on the ecstatic and apocalyptic, Lazarus is a hypnotic meditation on the abyss that separates existence from extinction—and the unspeakable truth that might wait on the other side.
Perfect for listeners drawn to existential horror, metaphysical fiction, or the eerie brilliance of Dostoevsky, Kafka, or Poe.

Twenty years ago I had the best night of my life. He was a musician passing through town and I was the naive college student who fell for his charm. We talked for hours, he made my body come alive, and in the early morning when he left, he promised to call.
    Spoiler alert. He never did.
Wilder was the first man to show me fairytales or happily ever afters don’t exist. Every man I’ve loved since has only confirmed it.
I’m tired of giving my heart away and being met with disappointment. I need a break from everything. Which is how I end up in the Arizona mountains on a two week vacation.
The last person I expect to see in this small town is him.
    Wilder.
It doesn’t matter that decades have passed or that his face is devoid of the smile burned into my memory, I’d recognize this man anywhere.
Only, he doesn’t remember me. Not when he’s kind of an ass, and not when he follows me out to my car to apologize, and especially not when he offers to take me to dinner.
I should say no. Hell, I should tell him to get lost. But instead, I give him my number . . . along with a fake name. There’s no harm in having a little fun. Besides, it’s not as if I’m going to fall in love. Only a fool would make that mistake twice.
Wild Love is a one night stand, missed connections, second chance romance written as a modern twist on the classic Cinderella fairytale and features a couple in their forties finding love in a small town. Readers can enjoy Wild Love as a standalone, or they can begin with Wild Hearts, Ryan and Val's story.
