Set hundred years in the future, history professor Christopher Cousins believes he’s contracted a mysterious plague which is somehow related to the orbital Gates that allow light-speed travel through the solar system. But the governments and corporations of the solar system are willing to do everything they must to suppress the existence of it. What’s more, those with the plague can hear and see strange things no one else can. As he investigates, he falls in with a group of dissidents (or are they terrorists?) who, like him, want to uncover the truth–which may be the biggest secret humanity has ever kept.

Where art meets murder, secrets hide in every brushstroke…
In the picturesque town of Willow Hollow, nestled in the Montana mountains, the Willow Hollow Art Retreat promises a sanctuary of creativity and inspiration. But when renowned and notoriously cruel artist Victor Deveraux is found dead at his easel during the annual Plein Air Painting Competition, the retreat transforms into the scene of a chilling murder mystery.
Cassandra Fairweather, a former art historian and the retreat's owner, reluctantly steps into the role of amateur sleuth. With a keen eye for detail honed from years of studying art and a determination to protect her beloved retreat, Cassandra begins to piece together the fragments of Victor’s tumultuous relationships with the retreat’s participants. Among the suspects are:
Lila Patterson, the talented but embittered artist whose career Victor ruined.
Greg Thornton, the hot-headed art supplies mogul with an ax to grind.
Sophia Knight, Victor’s anxious assistant harboring secrets of her own.
David Granger, a retired lawyer with a suspiciously calm demeanor.
With tensions rising, long-buried grudges surfacing, and secrets coming to light, Cassandra must unravel the truth before the killer strikes again.
In this gripping cozy mystery, art becomes a deadly game where everyone has something to hide, and only Cassandra’s wit and courage can reveal the murderer’s true colors.

Perfect for fans of Agatha Christie, cozy mysteries, and art lovers alike, Murder on the Canvas is the first book in the Art Retreat Mysteries series—a captivating blend of intrigue, creativity, and small-town charm.
