Sinossi

Nature is beautiful because it is alive, moving, reproductive. In nature we observe growth and development in living things, contrasted with the static or deteriorating state of the vast majority of that which is man-made. Sukanya, like many poets includes descriptions of nature in her poems. She describes the world around her in writing for a purpose. She not only tries to show us what she  sees, she tries to make her readers understand how she feels. Not only is she connected to nature but she also sees life reflected in it.

These poems offer unique insights into the heart and soul of an enlightened person. The spirit of the poems is contagious and reading them can give rise to a transmission or awakening of Shakti (spiritual energy). The author is an ardent Mother devotee, which shines forth in every poem. The book is divided into two equal parts. 1. the poems. 2. the ramblings which are short prose pieces on spirituality and sadhana (spiritual practices). In the second part, the important practice of Kriya Pranayama is explained.

Songs for My Father is a raw and honest collection of free verse poetry about the author’s relationship with her father. It chronicles how his anger and abuse left her emotionally trapped for many years, and how she found her way back into herself through her art.Katherine Lazaruk takes the reader through her early childhood experiences, drawing connections between how family, music, and learning shaped the writer and artist within her. It is a poignant window into the things that so often go unspoken, the elephants in the rooms of our families. Readers who have experienced what it means to be the outsider or scapegoat in their family of origin will be uplifted by this vision of how to break cycles of abuse and reclaim themselves through therapeutic and artistic journeys.Songs for My Father is at times dark, at times uplifting, and always deeply human.

In these peculiar times, we are thrust back into ourselves in a kind of suspension: one in which only private life exists yet threatens to become trivial through a sense of mutual, overarching dread.
Lent from award-winning writer Kate Cayley is built from this tension, exploring domestic and artistic life amidst the environmental crisis and the surprising ways that every philosophical quandary—large and small—converges in the home, in small objects, conversations, and moments. The grotesque and the tedious, the baroque and the banal, intertwine in the first three sections. Meticulous depictions of spectacle run into the repetition of daily domestic life: trying to explain time to children, day trips to the planetarium, and the warnings of strangers; these are interspersed with depictions such as Mary Shelley recalling the monster, the inner life of a seventeenth century portrait sitter, and Ted Hughes's second wife telling her story to the dead Sylvia Plath. The title section explores religious faith; how belief is itself a repetition, a slow accumulation over time, just like love or forgiveness.
Lent is an exquisite work of our era, asking us to contemplate what it means to live in a broken world—and why we still find it beautiful.

Ami’s dream is to make the world a better place. As a lover of nature and an adventurer, she is concerned about the environment and seeks to make it safer.
Unfortunately, she would realise that her friends—the various elements of nature, are in danger due to the behaviour of human beings. As a caring friend, she is willing to do her best to save them.
This book underscores the journey and adventures of Ami, starting from her desire to help Sun get its smile back, helping animals to survive, understanding the role of the Moon and the Earth, to taking actions to make the world a better and safer place.

“Reflections in Autumn – Collection of Poems: Windows into Small Worlds” is about places and people, wonders of nature, complexity of emotions, and scientific discoveries. Like parables, these poems inspire contemplation about life. They are grouped into four chapters: Travel, Memories with Family and Friends, On Walks, and Musings on Science. The author, George Chandy, is a retired physician-scientist whose research focused on potassium ion channels and their role in various diseases. He was repeatedly ranked among the most highly cited scientists in the world. “Reflections in Autumn” began as a memory exercise. Encouraged by family and friends this collection is his first endeavor to write in poetic form, “Evocative and reflective: marvelously capturing places, people, moods and emotions” (Meera Parkhe, Australia). “Beautiful rhymes and images coming together to bring events, people and memories to life.” (Ashok Roy, UK). “Personal, yet universal. Impressionist art, capturing moment and eternity. Memory-deep stories unraveled by the click of a camera. Poems about children and hope.” (Mani Chandy, USA). “His deep scientific background, historian, depth of inquiries into many areas of life has brought a rich profound touch to the poetry page. Readers will receive a gift of quiet moments, as well as engaging the mind into new horizons. His work is a treasure to add to one’s life.” (Patricia Truman, USA). “Poetic travelogue through life on people, places, emotions” (Isha Garg, India). “Picturesque poems captivating our senses, a riot of landscapes, exotic people, and historical events” (Suzy Thomas, India). In this 'Poetry For Pads' Initiative, the proceeds from the sale of this book will support the award-winning NGO, Days For Girls (https://www.daysforgirls.org/), that works to shatter stigma and limitations associated with menstruation to improve health, education, livelihoods and empowerment of women and girls in 145 countries on six continents.
