Sinossi

"Global Tech Lobbying" explores how major technology companies, particularly those in software and AI, are influencing public policy worldwide through sophisticated lobbying strategies. It reveals how these firms shape legislation, regulatory frameworks, and public opinion, prompting critical questions about transparency and accountability. The book investigates both direct engagement with policymakers and indirect methods, such as funding think tanks to sway public discourse.

The book highlights the uneven playing field created by extensive tech lobbying, potentially marginalizing smaller entities and the public. For instance, the rise of AI has intensified lobbying efforts as companies navigate regulatory uncertainties and ethical considerations. "Global Tech Lobbying" unfolds systematically, examining the history of tech lobbying, case studies on data privacy and AI governance, and potential policy reforms to promote broader stakeholder engagement.

Drawing on policy documents, lobbying disclosures, and expert interviews, the book adopts a fact-based, analytical stance, accessible to a broad audience. It offers valuable insights for policymakers, academics, and anyone interested in the intersection of technology and politics, providing a comparative perspective on how different regions grapple with the influence of powerful tech corporations and advocating for a more equitable technological future through increased transparency.

In today’s world we live in a culture of truth suppression. This is true in representative democracies like the United States as well as full totalitarian dictatorships like Communist China.
This book covers many areas of major lies like Global Warming, perverted doctrines taught in schools, Politics, News Suppression, Communist China, limitations in Spirituality, deficit spending, and problems with globalism.
There are many different types of truth suppression and as much as we would like to think that we live in an advanced culture and world, this effort by different entities to suppress truth affects our lives negatively in many ways.
The most direct effect is that we live in fear of the future of our world which is a big lie.
This suppression also keeps us from fully realizing our spiritual natures and that we do have the ability to accomplish amazing things when we live with full honesty in our lives.
I believe that individuals are closest to a state of happiness when they live their lives in truth. (See my book “A New Paradigm of Truth and Happiness” for more information.)
There are actions we can take to correct this situation but they are mass actions which need many persons involved to have a real effect. A list of these actions are given later in this book.

The untold account of how, in 1971, the defection of a KGB saboteur in London led to the rescue of MI5 after a series of disastrous intelligence failures.Drawing on newly declassified intelligence documents and dozens of interviews with spymasters, The Defector tells a startling story of a Soviet mission to plant fake Kremlin agents within British and American intelligence services, the paranoia that ensued, and how the actions of a genuine turncoat, the former KGB officer Oleg Lyalin, and the secrets he revealed resulted in one of the most dramatic and pivotal moments in the Cold War.Lyalin led MI5 to rethink its relationship with the CIA. And his defection discredited a previous KGB defector, Anatoly Golitsyn, the darling of the CIA, and ultimately destroyed the reputation of the US agency's head of counterintelligence, James Jesus Angleton. At the heart of Lyalin's story is a narrative entwined with lies, disinformation, Kremlin deception campaigns, intelligence failures by the CIA and MI5, and a tangled love life. It reveals how, during the darkest moments of the Cold War, one of the West's greatest achievements transpired as a result of MI5's break with the CIA.The disclosure of the inside story of this historic event also comes at a time when there is a renewed interest in the relationship between transatlantic spy services—from the intelligence they share or hold back to the way they respond to their political masters and stand up to threats from Russia.

The history of selling sex is a hidden one—and too often its practitioners are pushed to the margins of history. This book redresses the balance, revealing the history of the sex trade through the eyes of sex workers, from medieval streets to Wild West saloons, and from brothels to state bedrooms.

Harlots, Whores & Hackabouts' chapters are structured thematically in a broadly chronological order, each one introducing a lively cast of complex and entertaining characters operating in an array of different periods, locations, and settings. In ancient Mesopotamia, the harlot Shamhat was powerful and respected, able to civilize the wild man Enkidu through her charms. In medieval London, Elizabeth Moryng serviced religious clergy under the guise of an embroidery business, though she was eventually jailed for being a prolific panderer and bawd. In the hedonistic floating world of Edo, Japan, Kabuki actresses and geishas entertained and pleasured their patrons. Lister's engaging and illuminating tales invite listeners to look, listen, and reconsider everything they thought they knew about the world's oldest profession. Together, these captivating tales of sex workers from around the world and throughout history provide a powerful context to contemporary debates about sexuality and the empowerment of women.

    Immortality of the Gods -...

Each of us are alive for a very limited time. Or are we?
What if we could live not just for a century but for millennia? What if there were a way for us to never die? Is such a thing even remotely possible?
It may not only be feasible; it may very well have been achieved in the distant past. Ancient aliens may well have uncovered the secrets behind slowing, and ultimately completely stopping, the aging process.
History is filled with accounts of fantastic beings, powerful gods, and half-human/half-alien entities that had extraordinarily long life spans. Many such stories are now largely dismissed as nothing more than the stuff of legend, folklore, and mythology. But what if the accounts are all too real?
Highlights of Immortality of the Gods include:
    The story of the legendary Anunnaki, how they achieved everlasting life, and why they shared their secrets with Noah, Methuselah, and other biblical figures;
The saga of Gilgamesh, a long-lived part-human, part-extraterrestrial Sumerian ruler who was obsessed with immortality; and
A study of the claims that one of the reasons for the 2003 invasion of Iraq was to uncover the millennia-old secrets of white powder gold, a manna-like substance that supposedly rejuvenates cells and tissue.
