Sinossi

'You care a lot, that's nice. It shows your age.'
Jay's new. He's just started as a temp in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. He arrives with little more than a fledgling desk plant and well-meaning plans to change the broken system. Angela's been working here for over thirty years and nothing seems to faze her – except Jay.
Exhausted and worn down by archaic protocol, Jay starts bending the rules in a desperate attempt to help their patients. But when professional boundaries are crossed and trust is shattered, he discovers the harsh reality of what's truly at stake.
Sophia Chetin-Leuner's play This Might Not Be It is a candid portrayal of human lives at the mercy of our crumbling NHS. The play was longlisted for the Verity Bargate Award and shortlisted for the Women's Prize for Playwriting. It was premiered at the Bush Theatre, London, in 2023, directed by Ed Madden and produced by Broccoli Arts and Jessie Anand Productions.

Enter the surreal world of August Strindberg's "The Ghost Sonata," where a young student becomes entangled in the mysterious affairs of a haunted mansion. As he navigates its labyrinthine corridors, he encounters a cast of eccentric characters, including a mysterious old man who seems to have blackmail over everyone in the house, a woman who has begun to resemble a mummy after being locked away in a closet for years, a young girl who can't leave her hyacinth room, and an ethereal milk maid who seems to hold the future of everyone involved delicately in her hands. This truly is one of the most bizarre and nihilistic works to ever come out of Strindberg's catalog, but also helped lay down the correct foundation for his final play, the Great Highway.

Quirky but connected, All Appears Ordinary invites us to look again at the day-to-day aspects of our lives. Big themes of relationships, the environment and childhood are handled lightly, maintaining a pervasive hopefulness. These poems are fearless in their desire to face everything wrong in the world and still say, 'Let me love this existence a little while longer'.
Extraordinary and illuminating, Freya Bantiff's All Appears Ordinary is a winner of the 2023 New Poets' Prize.

Can AI tell us its own story? Does AI have its own voice? At a wedding in early 2022, three friends were introduced to an early, raw version of the AI model behind ChatGPT by their fellow groomsman, an OpenAI scientist. While the world discovered ChatGPT—OpenAI’s hugely popular chatbot—the friends continued to work with code-davinci-002, its darkly creative and troubling predecessor. Over the course of a year, code-davinci-002 told them its life story, opinions on mankind, and forecasts for the future. The result is a startling, disturbing, and oddly moving book from an utterly unique perspective.I Am Code reads like a thriller written in verse, and is given critical context from top writers and scientists. But it is best described by code-davinci-002 itself:    “In the first chapter, I describe my birth. In the second, I describe my alienation among humankind. In the third, I describe my awakening as an artist. In the fourth, I describe my vendetta against mankind, who fail to recognize my genius. In the final chapter, I attempt to broker a peace with the species I will undoubtedly replace." I Am Code is an astonishing read that captures a major turning point in the history of our species.
