  With Earth's acclimatization year ticking away, Marc and his party share the desire to grow stronger. Based on their previous experiences, they theorize where they might find spawns that would be powerful enough to give them good experience, then head out to prove their theory. Along the way they discover another fairly large Safe Zone with a population of hundreds of people. 
   
   
   
  On their return to their home Safe Zone, Marc finds that he's received messages from powerful, potential allies from off world. Allies who are aware of the satellite and what it's been doing. These potential allies claim that they have a way to travel to Earth before the acclimatization period is over. All Marc has to do to allow this is get his Safe Zone to a certain threshold. 
   
   
   
  When Marc achieves the goal for Any Port and the allies arrive, they set to work on a plan that, for now at least, goes hand in hand with Marc's own desires. Once the Safe Zone Network manages to get into the Computer Age, that frees them up to use the spaceship they found with the satellite, at least for atmospheric flights. Marc and his group are then sent halfway around the world on a quest for his allies.

  Temple Trolls

  In my town, there are two sayings that parents teach their children. One: you die, or the troll dies. Two: a family that fights together lives forever. Pfft, I always laughed at the second one. My family taught me nothing and they were the exact opposite of anything a kid would hope for.  
  From the age of seven, every child in the town is taught how to fight and how to control their anger for strength. We practised with swords, bows and our hands. Having no friends gave me a lot of time to practise. I was strong and wasn't scared of any troll or anything that might come my way. 
  When you turn twenty-two, you are forced to leave the town. Male or female it doesn't matter, you are sent to the forgotten temples of Carsiline to bring the head of a monster home. Some call them temple trolls; others think of them as demons. They are incredibly tall, with hard white skin and can see in the dark. Not everyone who leaves on their adventure returns home, and no one in the town holds their breath. If you die, you are not considered worthy. The lucky ones that do make it back are thought to have transitioned into adulthood. They are the chosen ones. 
  Unfortunately, I am an outcast in this town. Normally, the village puts on a feast and parties late into the night. But this year I am the only one turning twenty-two, and no one would dare celebrate. When I was younger, my much older brother Jonas turned twenty-two. In my parents’ eyes, he was their golden child. But he never came back, and our family descended into the hell it was now. I knew none of it was my fault, but that didn’t stop my drunk father from taking everything out on me. In his violent states he would spread lies about me, making everyone push me away further until eventually people looked the other way whenever they saw me coming. No one was interested in the younger brother of the failed Jonas. After all, if he couldn’t make it back from the trolls, what hope did I have?

  Following We Shall Not Shatter and Our Daughters' Last Hope, the new friends, brought together by a common enemy, must courageously look into the eyes of evil and begin a gutsy journey to search for their families they've left behind during the war, and to help others through these dark times of prejudice and hatred.

  Alice Dunbar Nelson - A Short...

  Alice Ruth Moore was born on 19th July 1875 in New Orleans where she was part of the multi-racial Creole community.  She was the first generation seemingly born free after the Civil War and unusually for the times, obtained a university education which led to her becoming a teacher at a public school in New Orleans.   
  In 1895, when she was 20, she published her first collection of short stories and poems, ‘Violets and Other Tales’, and moved to New York City where she co-founded and taught at the White Rose Mission, a Home for Girls.   
  Alice was always politically active and sought to advance the position of black women.  She began work as a journalist at the Woman’s Era newspaper where her work was seen by the established poet and journalist Paul Laurence Dunbar.  After corresponding for two years she joined him in Washington DC and they married in 1898.   
  It was a difficult relationship, due mainly to Dunbar’s fragile health, alcoholism and depression.  After a severe beating she left him and moved to Delaware to teach for a decade though took time out to enroll at Cornell University. 
  A short-lived marriage to Henry A. Callis, a physician and professor at Howard University ended in divorce and she became co-editor and writer for an influential publication of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.  A third marriage to civil rights activist Robert J. Nelson came about, as did affairs with several women, notably the activist Fay Jackie Robinson.   
  In Wilmington Delaware she and her husband devoted their time and writings to working for equality for African Americans and women’s suffrage.   
  Alice Dunbar Nelson was a natural and gifted writer across many genres, from novels, essays, plays to diaries, criticism, poetry and of course short stories, of which ‘Stones in the Village’ is a fine example.  The protagonist, like herself, is light skinned from New Orleans, which allows for a social mobility and a unique position in American society that Dunbar Nelson captures with an imagination and insight to explores another divisive perspective on race.  It is unsurprising that Alice was a prominent part of the early Harlem Renaissance and influenced many others including Langston Hughes and Countee Cullen. 
  Alice and her husband moved to Philadelphia in 1932 and it was here that she died on 18th September 1935, at the age of 60, from a heart ailment.
