It further discusses the evolution of due process rights, showcasing how legal interpretations have broadened protections for individuals in legal challenges.

The book emphasizes the judiciary's role as a powerful agent of social change, often outpacing legislative action in shaping societal norms. Legal Precedents starts with core legal concepts like stare decisis and judicial interpretation, then progresses through thematic chapters focusing on areas like freedom of speech, privacy rights, and criminal justice. Each chapter dissects key cases, analyzing legal arguments and their long-term impact.

Guy W. Ballard (July 28, 1878-December 29, 1939) and his wife, Edna Anne Wheeler Ballard, founded the I AM Movement. Ballard served in the US Army in World War I and then became a mining engineer. Both he and Edna studied theosophy and the occult extensively. In 1930 Ballard visited Mount Shasta in California, where he met another hiker who identified himself as the Count of St. Germain. These experiences are recorded in the three books Ballard wrote using the pen name Godfre Ray King. The I AM movement was one of the most successful, flamboyant, and controversial of the late 1930s. Ballard's teachings form the original nucleus for what are today called the Ascended Master Teachings and are still being taught by I AM sanctuaries all over the world.

Did you know that the English longbow was the “machine gun” of the medieval era, with its effectiveness being far greater than the crossbow?
The English longbow, typically made of yew wood, was one of the most powerful weapons in the Middle Ages that could change the course of battles. Measuring up to six feet in length, this weapon was highly regarded for its power and accuracy—trained archers could accurately shoot their target from over 200 yards.
The longbow also had a faster rate of fire compared to crossbows. Archers could release up to twelve arrows in a minute, while a crossbowman could only fire a maximum of three bolts in the same span of time. Because of this, longbowmen could unleash a devastating rain of arrows upon their enemies, disrupting their formations so the other units could charge in.
The medieval archers also required less training time to master the art of the longbow since the weapon’s mechanics were far simpler than that of crossbows. The most significant advantage of the longbow, however, was its penetrating power. An accurate shot could easily pierce through the armor of medieval soldiers. These archers would also fire at charging steeds to take down mounted knights. Without their mounts, heavily armored knights would be rendered immobile, making them almost completely vulnerable.
The history of the Middle Ages is rather complex and intricate. With so many events taking place simultaneously, it is easy to get confused over time. But that is about to change as this all-new history audiobook allows you to easily explore the gripping events that took place within this interesting period.

In The Decisive Decade, Dr. Jonathan D. T. Ward offers a comprehensive framework for how the US can, and must, defeat China on the world stage economically, diplomatically, militarily, and ideologically. International security and American supremacy are at stake—and now is the time for the US to take action. China's global power and influence grows every day. Working from a deep sense of national identity, the Chinese Communist Party is leading its country toward what it deems "the great rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation," and executing a long-term Grand Strategy to topple over its chief adversary, the US. As China becomes increasingly repressive domestically and aggressive overseas, it threatens to upend America's global dominance at every turn.

Ward provides novel and practical strategies that our government, as well as our businesses and our citizens, can utilize to undermine our adversary. Exhaustive campaigns in the economic, diplomatic, military, and ideological arenas, he argues, must be taken to achieve victory. With expert analysis of the history of US-China relations, as well as insight into how the Russia-Ukrainian war can inform our strategic thinking, The Decisive Decade presents a unique toolkit for our triumph over China. We can succeed, but it won't be easy; it will take all of our nation's ingenuity, confidence, and willpower to win.

The human person is a truth seeker, and one of the most compelling ways human beings pursue truth is through the arts. In Beauty and Imitation: A Philosophical Reflection on the Arts, Daniel McInerny argues for an understanding of art as a form of inquiry into truth that proceeds by way of sensible beauty. Drawing upon the thought of Aristotle and St. Thomas Aquinas, McInerny argues for the unfashionable yet philosophically compelling view that art is essentially “mimetic,” imitative of human action. But what does it mean for art to imitate human action? It means that art imitates the way human beings by nature quest for fulfillment, or happiness. In questing for fulfillment, human life takes the form of a story, and so the arts—all the arts, from painting to music, from fiction to film—are storytelling arts whose beauty reveals the truth about human happiness. The first part of the book features a renewed defense of the ancient Aristotelian claim that art is mimetic and that its imitation of the human story takes the form of a moral argument. The second part shows how audiences are transformed by the moral arguments the mimetic arts make, and the third concludes with a guided tour of the mimetic arts, where specific arts are considered in light of the Aristotelian and Thomistic principles advanced earlier.
