These postulates lead to several counterintuitive but experimentally verified consequences, such as time dilation, length contraction, and the relativity of simultaneity. Time dilation implies that a moving clock runs slower relative to a stationary observer, while length contraction means that an object moving at high velocity appears shorter along the direction of motion. The relativity of simultaneity states that two events that are simultaneous in one reference frame may not be simultaneous in another frame moving relative to the first.
