Sinopsis

“Sass wake up and get the fuck out of this taxi. He is driving you to a second location. You are going to be raped and murdered tonight.”Sassy jumped out at the next traffic light. In the fifteen seconds between waking up and jumping out, you know that Sassy had to muster the courage to do just that. Jump out. She did.Sarah Jayne Dennis’ utterly efficacious first novel, Keep it. Yeah! I know. is a love letter for the World. Introspective Sassy is a master at moving the chess pieces of life eight steps ahead, although at first, second, and third glances it does not seem so. She is slightly behind on the life milestones that pepper one’s life in their late twenties and early thirties in Brisbane. It is right to believe that willing the Universe to ruin you is a fool’s errand, especially when you are swinging punches for Sassy in the energy-holes set for her by her adversaries that overwhelm her. However, there is a hope and a sensitivity to Sassy that will leave you with the sense that she is destined for more than an ordinary life. The solemn fighting spirit which keeps her standing will never leave you questioning who is and was the heavyweight champion all along. That is to say, Sassy has a genius residing within her that knows what will really be in the end, despite the dominant narrative of today that she is losing.Sarah Jayne Dennis is a qualified Australian litigation lawyer with over ten years’ experience. She received top marks in high school before going on to win Lions Youth of the Year in 2003. Sarah was one of the highest achievers in the State of Queensland in English throughout her schooling. Sarah completed a Bachelor of Laws degree at the Queensland University of Technology in 2009, before going on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2010. Sarah was admitted as a lawyer to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 2010. Sarah briefly studied a Masters of Bioethics at the JPII institute in Melbourne in 2013. Sarah’s passion for uncovering truth led her into medical negligence litigation law (Plaintiff division). Sarah’s understanding of the World comes from her lifelong study of Physics, Anthropology, Law, Medicine and Bioethics, Philosophy, Religion, Psychology, Linguistics, Metaphysics, the Rosary and Sociology. Sarah lives in Australia as a writer with her two dogs Jesse and Rose Ary.

Stolen kisses and secret reunions lead to a passion that civil war cannot sever in this glorious historical romance from the bestselling author of Caress.   Beautiful, proud Audra Brennan feels like a stranger in a foreign land when she comes north from Louisiana to study music. But when she savors her first forbidden taste of desire in the arms of handsome lawyer Lee Jeffreys, his caresses spark a flame within her that burns away the differences between rebel and Yankee, all objections silenced by the fierce beating of two wild hearts falling impetuously, impossibly in love.   Suddenly cannon fire shatters the country. Principled, impassioned, and committed to a nation united, Lee answers the call to fight against the Confederacy, while Audra hurries home to a plantation shadowed by the darkening cloud of war. But in the most terrible of circumstances, can either afford to surrender their heart?   “Power, passion, tragedy and triumph are Rosanne Bittner’s hallmarks. Again and again, she brings readers to tears.” —RT Book Reviews

The narrator of Hogg is a Huck Finn–like youngster caught in society’s most sinister seams—but unlike Huck, he passes no moral judgments on the violence he takes part in . . .Hogg is the story of a man—a depraved trucker named Franklin Hargus, whom the people he works for call Hogg—and of the nameless boy who tells the story of three days of unspeakable sexual violence and devastation, which, together, they initiate in a small seaside American city in the middle of the last century. Hogg is a towering brute who makes his living as a rapist for hire. By the end of a series of vicious attacks, kidnappings, and mass murders, the reader will wonder who is more corrupt: the man or the boy.   Samuel R. Delany completed his first draft of Hogg within a day, if not within hours, of the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City and revised it over the next four years, though it was not released until 1995.
