The Book of Were-WolvesBeing an Account of a Terrible SuperstitionFirst published in 1865, this fascinating classic by Reverend Sabine Baring-Gould remains one of the most influential studies of lycanthropy ever written. Blending folklore, history, anthropology, and true crime, Baring-Gould investigates the werewolf myth from its earliest appearances in ancient legend to chilling cases documented in medieval and modern Europe. With a scholar’s rigor and a storyteller’s flair, he explores:Ancient myths and Norse sagas of shape-shiftersWitch trials and confessions of “wolf-men”Superstitions surrounding animal transformationGrisly historical accounts of murderers believed to be werewolvesPart gothic horror, part anthropological study, The Book of Were-Wolves is not merely about monsters of the imagination—it is also a disturbing examination of the darker corners of human nature. A must-read for lovers of folklore, occult history, and the macabre, this timeless work still casts its eerie shadow more than 150 years after its first publication.Sabine Baring-Gould (1834–1924) was an English Anglican priest, prolific author, folklorist, antiquarian, and hymn writer best known for penning Onward, Christian Soldiers. A man of boundless curiosity, he published over 1,200 works ranging from novels and theology to historical studies and collections of ghost stories. Deeply interested in the legends and traditions of Britain and Europe, Baring-Gould became one of the Victorian era’s foremost collectors of folklore, preserving tales of saints, supernatural beings, and rural customs. The Book of Were-Wolves remains his most famous exploration of the darker side of human belief and imagination.

Brent Maher, who has produced seven Grammy Award winning records and over twenty #1 singles has written this musical novel, “Night of the Orphan Train”, bringing to life the little-known story of 250,000 homeless orphans who were swept off the streets of New York City and shipped off in boxcars to every state in the union from 1854 until the early 1920s. Songs weave in and out of the saga and help to tell the story of three of these children, who we meet around the age of 11. Caroline, a young girl far older than her years would suggest, Billy, who has an unshakeable sense of right and wrong, and Jacob, whose heart is as big as the moon. We follow their journeys from their childhood to young adulthood with the Orphan Trains, World War I, and Angels Unawares profoundly impacting each of their lives.

From approximately 3100 BCE until around 1075 BCE, ancient Egypt was ruled by 20 different dynasties. The length of the dynasties varied: some, such as those during the First and Second Intermediate periods could be quite short, while the Thirteenth and 18th Dynasties each contained more a one dozen kings and ruled over the Nile Valley for around 200 years each. Although the first 20 Egyptian dynasties varied in number of rulers and length, most shared one important attribute: they were all native Egyptian dynasties. The one important exception came during Egypt’s Second Intermediate Period, when a mysterious foreign group of people, known as the Hyksos, conquered Egypt and established the Fifteenth and Sixteenth Dynasties some time shortly after 1700 BCE. For centuries, the Hyksos rule over Egypt was an enigma shrouded in half-truths and myth. It was only in the mid-20th century that Egyptologists, using newly discovered and translated texts, shed fresh light on the Hyksos to reveal details about their origins and rule in Egypt.
The transition from the Bronze to the Iron Age during the late 13th and early 12th centuries BCE arguably changed the structure and course of world history more fundamentally than any period before or since. During this period, numerous wealthy and enduring kingdoms of the eastern Mediterranean Sea region collapsed, and new ones rose in their places. At the center of this period of turmoil was a group of people known today as the Sea Peoples, the English translation of the name given to them by the Egyptians. Despite their prominent role in history, however, the Sea Peoples remain as mysterious as they were influential; while the Egyptians documented their presence and the wars against them, it has never been clear exactly where the Sea Peoples originated from, or what compelled them to invade various parts of the region with massive numbers.

    Spiritual Wisdom - The Divine...

Spirituality is the essence of human existence, a journey beyond the physical world into the depths of the soul. It is not confined to religious doctrines but is instead a personal experience that connects an individual to a higher reality. At its core, spirituality is about seeking truth, understanding the purpose of life, and attaining inner peace. Some find this connection through meditation and prayer, while others experience it in nature, art, or acts of kindness. Regardless of the path taken, spirituality fosters a sense of belonging to something greater than oneself.
The relationship between the mind and spirit is fundamental to spiritual growth. Thoughts shape perception, and perception influences reality. A mind cluttered with negativity and distractions struggles to grasp deeper truths, while a mind that is calm and focused becomes a gateway to higher awareness. This is why many spiritual traditions emphasize practices such as mindfulness, meditation, and contemplation. These practices clear the noise of daily life and create space for divine insight. In this state of clarity, individuals often experience a profound sense of connection with the universe, realizing that they are not separate from it but an integral part of its vast and mysterious existence.
Awakening to higher consciousness is a transformative process. It often begins with an inner calling—an unshakable feeling that there is more to life than material success and worldly pleasures. This realization can emerge through deep reflection, personal struggles, or even spontaneous moments of enlightenment. As one embarks on the path of self-discovery, old beliefs and conditioned patterns begin to dissolve, making way for a more expansive understanding of life. True spiritual awakening is not about accumulating knowledge but about experiencing a shift in perception—one that transcends fear, attachment, and limitation.
