  Some you may disagree with but they will get you thinking; about our choices and about those you would have made.  If this volume takes you on a path to discover more of these miniature masterpieces then we have all gained something.

We can follow Odo's life from his youth—influenced by St. Francis Assisi, poverty and grief—through young adulthood—characterized by contacts with free thinkers, love, court spies and intrigues—to maturity, when he accepts the honor and duty of being the Duke of Pianura.
