"Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison: The Rival Inventors Who Powered the Modern Era" is an enthralling two-in-one volume that unites the remarkable stories of two of history's most extraordinary inventors. Authored by Michael W. Simmons, this composite work weaves together the parallel narratives of Tesla and Edison, whose innovations and rivalry forged the path of the technological age.
The first section, derived from "Nikola Tesla: Prophet of The Modern Technological Age," immerses readers in the mysterious and groundbreaking world of Nikola Tesla. Renowned for inventions like the induction motor and contributions to electrical engineering, Tesla's life was filled with achievements that bordered on the magical. This book takes readers from Tesla's extraordinary childhood experiences in Croatia, through his fierce competition with Edison, to his ambitious projects that revolutionized technology and occasionally, like in New York, almost literally shook the world. Relationships with key figures such as Mark Twain, J.P. Morgan, and Albert Einstein are explored, revealing the depth of Tesla's impact in various spheres.
Transitioning to "Thomas Edison: American Inventor," the second section of the book, readers encounter the quintessential story of American innovation. Edison's journey from conducting experiments in his youth to inventing the phonograph and the incandescent light bulb is a testament to his inventive genius. Through Edison’s personal writings and contemporary accounts, the book vividly brings to life the experience of witnessing Edison's inventions for the first time. His friendships with notable individuals like Henry Ford and his wartime efforts offer a comprehensive view of a man whose inventions illuminated the world.
Together, these stories form "Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison a compelling narrative.

Outsourcing and entrusting your tasks or projects to freelancers, employees or consultants is risky because they are not always reliable. They are prone to missing deadlines, making excuses or handing in subpar work.
Such scenarios aren't just frustrating; they’re expensive, stressful, and can damage your business's reputation. Every delayed project is a missed opportunity, and every substandard delivery erodes your credibility with your customers or clients. More than that, these issues are a direct assault on your financial bottom line with funds spent on underperforming staff, lost customers, and the often-hidden costs of finding and training replacements.
In this unforgiving environment, traditional hiring models often seem more like a gamble than a strategy. But there has to be a solution, right? Meet ChatGPT, a solution that brings the promise of stability and reliability to this chaotic landscape.
Imagine a world where your 'employee' is available around the clock, needs no breaks or vacations, and is impervious to the personal issues that routinely derail human workers. This employee writes flawlessly, researches tirelessly, handles customer inquiries with tact and precision and doesn’t miss deadlines.
In his book entitled ChatGPT For Hire: It Never Sleeps and Never Makes Excuses author Omar Johnson shows you how to make the paradigm shift from hiring unreliable freelancers, employees, and consultants to empowering yourself with AI. This book is an invitation for you to explore a new paradigm, one where AI—specifically ChatGPT—becomes your go-to solution for a wide array of tasks that, until now, you depended on a human workforce to perform.

When Trina Moyles was five years old, her father, a wildlife biologist known in Peace River as "the bear guy," brought home an orphaned black bear cub for a night before sending it to the Calgary Zoo. This brief but unforgettable encounter spurred Trina's lifelong fascination with Ursus americanus—the most populous bear on the northern landscape, often considered a nuisance to human society. As a child roaming the shores of the Peace in the footsteps of her beloved older brother, Brendan, she understood bears to be invisible entities: always present but mostly hidden and worthy of respect. After years of working for human rights organizations, Trina returned to northern Alberta for a job as a fire tower lookout. Over four summers, Trina begins to move beyond fear and observe the extraordinary essence of the maligned black bear—a keystone species who is as subject to the environmental consequences of the oil economy as humans. At the same time, she searches for common ground with Brendan on the land that bonded them.Impassioned and eloquent, Black Bear is a story of grief and a vision of peaceful coexistence in a divided world. It captures the fragility of our relationships with human and nonhuman species alike, and the imperative to protect the wild—along with the people we hold closest.

“A raw and honest journey of addiction, love, trauma, and redemption—grounded in a deep love of place and all things mustang. The best memoirs reveal the deeply personal in order to see the larger world with renewed clarity and insight—this is one such book. As Wilder moves from heroin to horses, we see a substantive journey of recovery and strength—and ultimately, of resilience.” —LAURA PRITCHETT, author of Stars Go Blue
“For too long, the lone cowboy myth has corralled the American West in the barbed wires of dominion and destruction. Tangled in that telling are women and mustangs—their wildness, togetherness, and vulnerability. In Desert Chrome, Wilder bucks against a story as desiccated as the deserts she has dwelled in—kicking hard enough to free what was bound, to redeem what was broken. Listen now, to the thundering of hearts and hooves. They’re coming for us, at last.” —AMY IRVINE, author of Air Mail and Desert Cabal
“Desert Chrome journeys through parched valleys, on wild rivers, and into deep rock canyons on a unique quest. In this authentic, hard-won account of her life, Wilder finds the warm, true hearts she’s been seeking and that deserve our humanity, healing, and a hell of a lot better future than they’ve been dealt. There’s a quiet heroine at the center of this story, yes, pointing toward a beautiful world. It can be ours if we’ll love better, lean closer, and listen to the voices, like Wilder’s own, well worth heeding from birth.” —REBECCA LAWTON, author of The Oasis This Time
“A powerful coming-of-age story, into the age of a woman’s strongest power, when, with complete awareness of her past, she can, with might and strength, will the future before her. Wilder writes with all the love, wisdom, and courage it takes to make positive changes for the western landscape, horses, and readers.” —CMARIE FUHRMAN, author of Camped Beneath the Dam

    Infinite Darkness - How Dark...

Dark matter is one of the most intriguing mysteries in modern science. Despite making up approximately 27% of the universe, it cannot be seen or detected directly using traditional instruments. The name "dark matter" itself stems from the fact that it does not emit, absorb, or reflect light, making it invisible to the electromagnetic spectrum. However, its existence is inferred from its gravitational effects on visible matter, such as galaxies, stars, and other celestial objects. Without dark matter, the motion of galaxies would not make sense, as they appear to be moving far too quickly for the amount of visible matter they contain. This unseen substance holds galaxies together and ensures the stability of the universe’s large-scale structure.
The story of dark matter begins in the 1930s with the work of Swiss astronomer Fritz Zwicky. While studying the Coma galaxy cluster, Zwicky found that the visible matter in the galaxies was not enough to account for the way the galaxies were moving. He proposed that there must be some form of unseen mass providing additional gravitational pull, which he called "dark matter." Although his hypothesis was met with skepticism, it laid the foundation for further research into this invisible force.
Over the following decades, scientists gathered more indirect evidence supporting the existence of dark matter. In the 1970s, astronomer Vera Rubin and her colleague Kent Ford observed the rotation of galaxies and found that stars on the outer edges were moving much faster than expected. Based on the laws of physics and the visible mass, these stars should have been moving more slowly and would have been flung out of their orbits. The only explanation for their high speed was the presence of a significant amount of unseen mass—dark matter.
