Sinossi

It’s 1983 when young Ricky James’s mother mysteriously disappears and he is placed in the care of an uncle he’s never met. Their riverside shack on the African coastline is where he begins a seemingly normal life. However, when he vows to find his mother he’s haunted by a plot of revenge and witchcraft that’s been waged against his family for decades. Forced on an adventure, he has to escape being hunted by a bloodthirsty creature of the deep and overcome his own demons to discover how to fill a hollowness growing in his heart. Will he find his mother, become prey thanks to his love of surfing or expose a far more terrifying truth?

The Nameless Something by Murray Leinster - Bud Gregory was something there isn't any word for. With bulging eyes the truck-driver saw the rattletrap vehicle swerve out over space, until only its inner wheels were on the road.
It should have toppled instantly and horribly, only it didn't. It rode exactly as if there were an invisible highway surface over emptiness. The Diesel driver saw it swerve placidly back into the road behind him, and go on. And he braked his monster truck to a stop and had a perfectly good fit of the shakes. He made up his mind to take a week off to be spent in rest and quiet. He did.
On that day, it was said in Washington that a grave international crisis threatened, and eminent statesmen went about in spectacular silence, refusing to speak for publication but privately tipping off their favorite newspapermen to monstrous events due to occur.
On yet another day Bud Gregory arrived at yet another place where further dirt-track automobile racing was in progress, and attempted negotiations with a dejected driver who had not been in the money for weeks. The driver laughed at him, bitterly, and Bud Gregory was indignant. He bet on the races and lost two dollars.
On the same day, four satellite nations of a certain European Power revealed that for several months they had been running atomic piles, and now had a sufficient stock of atomic bombs for their own defense. The rest of the United Nations erupted into frenzied protests—which cut off short when they realized it was too late to object.

Ring Around The Sun by Isaac Asimov - Hell in reverse temperature–that’s what Jimmy and Roy were going through in their little space-ship! Tricked into the dangerous trip, ironic fate caused them to freeze at 40 below, though they were almost in the sun!
Jimmy Turner was humming merrily, if a bit raucously, when he entered the reception room.
"Is Old Sourpuss in?" he asked, accompanying the question with a wink at which the pretty secretary blushed gratefully.
"He is; and waiting for you." She motioned him towards the door on which was written in fat, black letters, "Frank McCutcheon, General Manager, United Space Mail."
Jim entered. "Hello, Skipper, what now?"
McCutcheon stared at him from under bushy gray eyebrows. "Old Sourpuss," as he was euphoniously known to all members of United Space Mail, had never been known to laugh within the memory of the oldest inmate, though rumor did have it that when a child he had smiled at the sight of his father falling out of an apple-tree. Right now his expression made the rumor appear exaggerated.

These tales, from the golden age of classic children’s literature, enchant both children and adults alike. The listener will be transported into the charming world of the ‘Riverbank’, the grandeur of Toad Hall, the darkness of the Wild Wood as we share the adventures of capable Ratty, the trusting and innocent Mole, the wise Badger and the conceited but irrepressible Toad. The stories are humorous, exciting, occasionally scary and at the same time comforting, because of the wonderful bonds of friendship and camaraderie which bind the four principal characters. You will enjoy the peaceful beauty of a summer’s picnic by the riverside, the hilarious adventures of Mr Toad, cosy chats beside a roaring winter fire, and much more besides. ‘The Wind in the Willows’ is a novel which has stood the test of time and will be loved as much by today’s children and adults as it has been in the past.
