Sinossi

The Power of Fear is a chilling 'What if,' a stretch of the imagination, and a glimpse into an ultra-right-wing United States posing as a democracy and using advances in medical and ectogenesis technologies to preserve a White America.

Make America One Again was Dawson Nerium’s campaign slogan which paved the way for him to win the 2024 election and become the 47th President of the United States. Nothing more than smoke and mirrors though, the slogan had nothing to do with unity but more about preserving a White America. As part of his MAOA agenda, the then newly elected President replaced race as a category with a percentage of whiteness. Nearly a quarter of a century later, his grandson, the 49th President of the United States, might have stretched his grandfather’s agenda too far when a high-profile murder is linked to the Puritan Project, a covert government black ops program managed by someone in his inner circle. THE POWER OF FEAR is a fast-paced fiction that take place in the second half of the 21st Century, a dystopian future of an ultra-right wing United States perpetrating as a democracy using advances in medical and ectogenesis technologies to preserve a White America.

Nour, a young African American woman, but classified by the government as a 65 Percenter on Nerium’s ‘Whiteness Scale’ applies her skills and experience as former Naval Intelligence Officer to find Karen, her best friend and former Naval Academy roommate. At the same time, she embarks on a new career while working for a non-government organization spearheading several major initiatives for the United States, including space exploration and bringing an end to human trafficking. She discovers more than she should about the Puritan Project, a government underground black ops program, using ectogenesis and genetic engineering of human embryos to combat the browning of America, fuel the long running Nerium Dynasty, and ultimately, transform the application of American Democracy.

In 1905 Conan Doyle reluctantly decided to bring his most famous creation Sherlock Holmes back to life. It is no easy thing to convincingly resurrect a man whom you have so decisively thrown over a Swiss waterfall. There is however no sense of reluctance in the collection of short stories that make up The Return of Sherlock Holmes. The great detective reenters the stage with convincing aplomb and his usual theatricality, albeit at the expense of the bemused and shocked Watson.
The “Return” contains some of the most popular adventures of the Holmes canon, including the melodramatic “Solitary Cyclist”, the ingenious “Six Napoleons” (with Lestrade’s surprisingly warm endorsement of Holmes at the end). We have the clever “Second Stain” and the inventive “Dancing Men” The stories also have some memorable villains, (who could so easily pale in the dark memory of Professor Moriarty), not least the despicable Charles Augustus Milverton.
Head Stories Audio presents “The Return of Sherlock Holmes” narrated by Simon Hester. With original music. Performed by Simon Hester and Carmine Lauri.

When aspiring artist Anna de' Medici Rossi inherits her family's opulent villa in Tuscany, she returns to a place steeped in tragedy and mystery. Living there as a child, Anna suffered from debilitating night terrors, frequently waking to find that she had wandered far from bed. During one such episode when Anna was twelve, her mother took a fatal tumble down the stairs. Vittoria's death was officially ruled an accident, but an heirloom ruby-and-diamond necklace was missing from her bruised neck. Whispered suspicions suggest that Anna pushed her mother and stole the precious jewels. Anna, remembering little from that night, is afraid they're right. But if that's true, then what became of the necklace, which has long been associated with legends of a family curse?

Now back in Tuscany after sixteen years, Anna is shunned by the local townspeople as a killer who escaped justice, while only a few distant relatives and an old childhood friend offer solace. As she explores the sprawling villa, Anna uncovers hidden rooms and memories shrouded in fog, reigniting the violent night terrors of her youth. Plagued by unsettling visions and eerie occurrences, she questions her sanity and embarks on a harrowing journey to unravel the truth of her past. As her search deepens, she confronts shocking revelations that expose her to dangers she never anticipated.
