  There is a crisis facing America’s men. They have fallen behind women in school, they are often overlooked in career opportunities, and they are scolded for their unique educational needs. No solutions have been found because our reigning civil rights regime prevents us from even acknowledging the problem or from coming to grips with it. Instead, our laws keep insisting on “gender neutral” remedies like improving test scores or graduation rates—ignoring the natural differences between the sexes. The assault on single-sex institutions—from military schools to the boy scouts—accelerated with the Supreme Court’s decision in United States v. Virginia (1996). In Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg majority opinion, she argued that natural differences between men and women were artifacts of prejudice and could not be used to justify single-sex education. She predicted that Virginia Military Institute (VMI) would not have to change much to admit women. Over twenty years later, evidence to the contrary is compounding. With new physical standards, alternative forms of discipline, new dress codes and grooming standards, and a new honor code which disregards the courage and sacrifice of men, one could only image what else could be changed.To seriously consider the unique educational needs for men, we must be free to consider the unique natural differences between men and women. Therefore, the states should seek to overturn United States v. Virginia (1996) and be allowed to consider the unique needs of men once again in education and allow manly honor as a legitimate goal for public schools.

It chronicles how black people developed and defended New World settlements, undermined slavery, and championed freedom throughout the hemisphere from the sixteenth thorough the twentieth centuries. While conventional history tends to reduce the roles of African Americans to antebellum slavery and the civil rights movement, in reality African residents preceded the English by a century and arrived in the Americas in numbers that far exceeded European migrants up until 1820. Afro-Americans were omnipresent in the founding and advancement of the Americas, and recurrently outnumbered Europeans at many times and places, from colonial Peru to antebellum Virginia. African-descended people contributed to every facet of American history as explorers, conquistadores, settlers, soldiers, sailors, servants, slaves, rebels, leaders, lawyers, translators, teachers, doctors, nurses, inventors, investors, merchants, mathematicians, scientists, scholars, and presidents. The multitude of events and mixed-race individuals included in the book underscores that black and white Americans share the same history, and in many cases, the same ancestry. American Founders is meant to celebrate this shared heritage and strengthen these bonds.

  At its core, democratic socialism emphasizes that democracy should extend beyond the political sphere to include economic decision-making. This principle advocates for increased worker participation in corporate governance, fair labor practices, and the regulation of industries to prevent exploitation and ensure public benefit. Rather than abolishing private enterprise, democratic socialism often supports a mixed economy, combining elements of both private and public ownership to balance innovation with social responsibility.

  The US media has been tainted with Russian disinformation, but the more significant threat is how the Right has embraced the Russian model of the news media as a vehicle for propaganda. This could not have happened without Donald Trump, who has been aided and abetted by politicians and news outlets that favor persuasion over information.   Seeing Red breaks new ground in investigating the scope of Russian disinformation, arguing that key politicians and media outlets in the United States have facilitated the dissemination of Russian propaganda. From the 2020 elections to the Capitol Insurrection to the war in Ukraine, Sarah Oates and Gordon Neil Ramsay examine the penetration of key Kremlin strategic narratives that attempt to project Russian power, blame NATO for Russian aggression, and attack democracy via the US news. Despite knowledge of the risk and resourceful work on tracking down Russian propaganda in the United States, the problem of foreign disinformation continues to this day. As Oates and Ramsay argue, this is in part due to exploitation of the American tradition of free speech and the open nature of the US media system.
