Like it or not, you’re a leader now. Better step away from your computer and figure out how to deal with people!
There are few leadership books tailored specifically to the needs of technical-minded people who like hard evidence, plain language, and industry-specific guidance.
    People like you!
Gwen Acton, PhD, has helped thousands of scientists and engineers to become better leaders, and she can help you too. Leadership for Scientists and Engineers offers a clear, pull-no-punches walk through all the skills you’ll need to manage a team and advance in your role, including:
        * Delegating. Delegating way more than you think you should. Delegating like your life depends on it.
        * Conducting one-on-ones that put you and your reports at ease and ensure no surprises when it comes time for the annual review.
        * Navigating the hiring and onboarding process no matter what size organization you’re working with.
        * Figuring out what to do when someone starts crying in your office.
Science and engineering take a lot of technical know-how, but leadership takes a lot of soft skills—communication, networking, setting and adjusting goals.
You want to be good at this stuff. You don’t want to hate it. Leadership for Scientists and Engineers is here to help.

    Bluebird Seasons - Witnessing...

    Mary Taylor Young

In this A Sand County Almanac for the twenty-first century, nature writer and zoologist Mary Taylor Young tells the story of the growing effects of climate change on her land in the pine-covered foothills of southern Colorado.

Climate change wasn't yet on the public radar when Young and her husband bought their piece of the wild in 1995. They built a cabin and set up a trail of bluebird nest boxes, and Mary began a nature journal of her observations, delighting in the ceaseless dramas, joys, and tragedies that are the fabric of life in the wild.

But changes greater than the seasonal cycles of nature became evident over time: increasing drought, trees killed by plagues of beetles, wildfires, catastrophic weather, bears entering hibernation later and thinner, the decline of some familiar birds, and the appearance of new species.

Using the journal as a chronicle of change, Young tells a story echoed in everyone's lives and backyards. But it's not time to despair, she writes. It's time to act.

Young sees hope in the human ability to overcome great obstacles, in the energy and determination of young people, and in nature's resilience, which the bluebirds show season after season.

The TR-3B, or Black Manta, or Astra is one of the most fascinating potentially top secret aircraft ever created by the United States military.
The big reason for this is that this craft is supposed to use anti-gravity technology. This technology is discussed a lot in this book.
Also, what other evidence is there for the existence of this craft? There are lots of unknowns here but there are also enough pictures of this aircraft that you can’t just discount sightings as being something else which the observers misinterpreted.
There are even anti-gravity patents by US government researchers which might be applicable to the reality of the TR-3B.
Overall, the existence of this craft is a huge mystery which still needs exploration and solutions to what it really is.
This is what I’m trying to do in this book.

Professor Rose Anne Kenny has thirty-five years of experience at the forefront of aging medicine. In Age Proof, she draws on her own pioneering research and the latest evidence to demystify why we age and shows us that 80% of our aging biology is within our control: we can not only live longer lives but become happier and healthier deep into our later years. Effortlessly distilling scientific theory into practical advice that we can apply to our everyday lives, Professor Kenny examines the impact that food, genetics, friendships, purpose, sex, exercise, and laughter have on how our cells age. This illuminating book will show you the steps you can take to stay younger for longer—and will prove that you really are just as young as you feel.

This is a book about TRUTH—and all the ways we try to avoid it—from the bestselling author of Humans: A Brief History of How We F*cked It All Up.We live in a “post-truth” world, we’re told. But was there ever really a golden age of truth-telling? Or have people been lying, fibbing and just plain bullsh*tting since the beginning of time?Tom Phillips, editor of a leading independent fact-checking organization, deals with this question every day. In Truth, he tells the story of how we humans have spent history lying to each other—and ourselves—about everything from business to politics to plain old geography. Along the way, he chronicles the world’s oldest customer service complaint, the Great Moon Hoax of 1835 and the surprisingly dishonest career of Benjamin Franklin.Sharp, witty and with a clear-eyed view of humanity’s checkered past, Truth reveals why people lie—and how we can cut through the bullsh*t.
