Sinossi

'A jolt, a shock, a humming just beneath my skin, something surging through my veins, my body awakening, buzzing to life finally, FINALLY.'
A young trans man, struggling as he begins his medical transition, drops out of university and retreats to his quiet hometown. His friends are gone. The neighbours are watching. His body is changing faster than he can make sense of it... until a midnight screening of Frankenstein offers him a strange kind of salvation.
Staring into the monster's big, dead, sad eyes, something finally clicks: for the first time, he feels seen.
Vivid, witty and humane, Dear Young Monster is Pete MacHale's debut solo show, delving into fear, otherness, and what it means to embrace being the monster the world keeps telling you that you are.
It premiered at Bristol Old Vic in 2024, directed by Sammy Glover, and was nominated for the WhatsOnStage Award for Best Studio Production. It transferred to Soho Theatre, London, in 2025.
Disponibile da: 14/08/2025.

The first time I met her, Jacinthe Gauthier-Laframboise was running screaming after an escaped donkey while covered in manure. It wasn't exactly a meet-cute, but luckily, I'm not looking for a relationship. It's the perfect place to grow my business as a farrier and create some stability for me and my kid.Unfortunately, Jacinthe makes me feel anything but stable. She's a chaotic whirlwind of a woman who doesn't know the meaning of the word quiet, but somehow, I can't get her out of my head. Or my house. She's my new landlady's daughter, and living on the same farm together means there's no escape: not from her devious dark eyes, her surprising moments of softness, or the way she's cracking open my heart just as fast as she's falling into my fantasies.Letting her in means risking my new life, but letting her go means giving up what might just be the very best thing in this town.I've gotten used to making tough choices, but this could be the most impossible one of all.

Daniel Jankovic never dreamed his life with his boyfriend Tate could be so perfect. But seven years in, they live together, still love one another, and still celebrate Christmas with Tate's accepting family. While Dan doesn't miss his abusive and alcoholic family of origin, he doesn't think he misses the traditions that he once celebrated in a Czech immigrant household -- until he meets Matthew Varga.

Matthew never stood out to Dan until he overhears him say Merry Christmas in Czech. Suddenly, all the memories Dan once suppressed of his former Christmas celebrations come back, along with a hefty crush on Matthew. They're both academics, in the same English Literature program, and both have difficult and distant families. They relate to one another on a level Dan could have never predicted.

When Tate and Matthew meet at a Christmas party, the two also hit it off. Matthew, like Tate, grew up building things on a farm and likes to work with his hands. The always open and accepting Tate sees nothing wrong with letting Matthew stay the night on their couch, and then, eventually stay in their bed.

But as Christmas nears, and their three-way relationship intensifies, Dan is left wondering where Matthew will fit in for Christmas -- and long afterwards.
