Sinossi

Percy William Bullock (1868-1940) was an English esotericist, alchemist and initiate, member of the Theosophical Society and the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, a secret society devoted to the study and practice of occult Hermeticism and metaphysics during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
He was initiated into the Golden Dawn at its Isis-Urania temple in London in September 1890, choosing, as an initiatory name, the Latin motto ‘Levavi oculos’. He was well-versed in the occult already, and worked through the Golden Dawn’s study programme for initiates quickly.  Then, he was initiated into its inner, 2nd Order on 3 July 1892.  For over ten years he was one of the Golden Dawn’s most committed and hard-working members.  He also married, in 1894, another member of the Order, Pamela Carden.
The Bullock’s work Hermetic Philosophy, which we propose to our readers today, was a Paper read before the Adelphi Lodge (Theosophical Society), then published in The Theosophist in 1892.
According to Bullock, «Hermetic philosophy is at once a union of the reason and the religious instinct: it offers a key to unlock the mysteries of being and is a testimony to the eternal aspiration of the religious sentiment in man to become united with the Divine».

Pistis Sophia is a Gnostic text discovered in 1773, possibly written between the third and fourth centuries AD. The existing manuscript, which some scholars place in the late fourth century, relates one Gnostic group's teachings of the transfigured Jesus to the assembled disciples, including his mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, and Martha.
This is G.R.S. Mead's translation of the Pistis Sophia, the most extensive Gnostic scripture available until the discovery of Nag Hammadi texts in 1945. The Pistis Sophia is a startling blend of primitive Christianity and Hellenic Paganism, with other elements such as reincarnation, astrology, mystery religion and Hermetic magic.
The goddess makes an appearance in the guise of Sophia, a fallen angel. The text is notable because the female disciples of Jesus are treated as active participants in the discourse, in a way that would be unimaginable in later Christianity. Tensions between the men and women disciples are not glossed over.

Lust is a man's problem, right? Wrong. When we see lust as an exclusively male issue, it leaves Christian women with nowhere to turn when they struggle with the same things. They suffer silently and feel like they will never be free.

Jessica Harris has been there, and she has made it her mission to break the silence, banish the shame, and bring women's struggles into the light of God's grace and forgiveness. She understands that when you suffer in silence, you are building a wall of shame between yourself and God that God does not desire for you. In this authentic and honest book, she shows women a road map for restoration that answers the question "Is there grace left for me?" with a resounding and emphatic "Yes!"

For any woman who desires to escape the pull of lust, pornography, and sexual shame, this book is a refreshing drink of water that will quench the fire within and point the way toward freedom.
