Sinossi

It’s so easy to have dwindling faith these days or even lose the faith completely because of the happenings around us but be reminded of Hebrews 12:2, “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”. Jesus too was pressed at a time but He kept the faith and now He is in heaven reaping the benefits of not giving up; Hebrew 10:12, Philippians 2:5-11.

You too should focus on Jesus and not on any other person or thing so that you can remain standing and reap the benefits in due time.

Don’t lose your faith, you have EVERY good thing to gain and absolutely nothing to lose when you put your whole trust in God.

PUT YOUR FAITH IN THE LIVING GOD, HE DOES NOT FAIL.

Is it possible to combine Christian and queer-affirming attitudes in a counseling context? This book provides concrete case studies to show that it is indeed possible and shows how this connection can be touching and liberating.

Kerstin Söderblom explains the meaning of queer-affirming pastoral care, using narrative miniatures of counseling sessions. The basis for this is the evaluation of case studies from pastoral care and casual services. Moreover, it presents queer-friendly impulses for pastoral care sermons, queer "re-readings" of biblical texts, prayers and rituals.

The book shares exciting and touching stories from a pastoral-theological world that is usually still completely ignored. It combines professional pastoral care work with the question of how it can be offered to queer people in an appropriate and respectful way.

African Heroes: Discovering Our Christian Heritage shows children how God has used all races and ethnicities in his plan of redemption by celebrating and highlighting the contributions of African theologians and martyrs. Jordan and Jasmine’s dad loves history and is always telling them stories about the past. One day when their family is out on a picnic, they start asking if there were any Christians who looked like them who God had used to help the church grow. They are excited when their dad shares inspiring true stories of early Christian leaders—both men and women—from Africa who helped to grow the early church in remarkable and significant ways. Author Jerome Gay introduces children to the stories of eleven amazing African leaders including Augustine, Athanasius, Tertullian, and more.  For children ages four to seven to show the African roots of the early church. Key principles and Bible verses are connected with each leader; for example, Augustine’s life and work in Algeria is characterized by grace (Ephesians 2:8). Christian parents and church leaders will value sharing this resource with children to show that people of diverse cultures were part of the early church.
