Russia's 2022 attack on Ukraine saw confrontation between Moscow and the West spill over into open conflict once again. But Russia has also been waging a clandestine war against the West for decades. Hostile acts abroad, from poisoning dissidents to shooting down airliners, interfering in elections, spying, hacking, and murdering, have long seemed to be the Kremlin's daily business. But what is it all for? Why does Russia consistently behave like this? And what does it achieve?

In this book, Keir Giles explains how and why Russia pushes for more power and influence wherever it can reach, far beyond Ukraine—and what it means not just for governments, but for ordinary people. Bringing together stories from the military, politics, diplomacy, espionage, cyber power, organized crime, and more, Giles describes how Moscow conducts its campaigns across the globe, and how nobody is too unimportant to be caught up in them. By lifting the lid on the daily struggle going on behind the scenes to protect governments, businesses, societies, and people from Russian hostile activity, Russia's War On Everybody shows how Moscow's hostile intentions for the rest of the world are far broader and more ambitious, and the ways it tries to achieve them far more pervasive and damaging, than we realize.

In the shadows of other dimensions, there lies a nefarious force waging war upon humans from the space between spaces for millennia, a dark force that governs not just our thoughts and actions but our very souls. The very advent of time began the slave master hierarchy between us and those unseen forces behind our every action and thought. They built and created "rules" and systems of thought, created kingdoms and spawned religions used to rule the masses from afar by controlling the ebb and flow of space and time on an epic level. Under the guise of "free will" and individualism the systems in place around us actually ensures that we have no choice but to comply and obey an underlying agenda that’s at its core is evil, put in place by beings that feed and are nurtured by the control they maintain over planet earth.

From the first microbial exchanges of DNA to Tinder and sexbots, how did sex begin, and how did it evolve to be so varied and complex in humans? What influence do our genetic ancestors have on our current love lives? And what might sex look like in the future?

With acuity, humor, and respect for human diversity, The Shortest History of Sex reveals where the many facets of our sexuality—chemical, anatomical, behavioral, social—come from. Possibly the most important man of antiquity, and even all of history, was Julius Caesar. Alexander Hamilton, the famous American patriot, once remarked that “the greatest man who ever lived was Julius Caesar”. Such a tribute, coming from one of the Founding Fathers of the quintessential modern democracy in reference to a man who destroyed the Roman Republic, is testament to the enduring mark that Caesar left upon the world. The ultimate conqueror, statesman, dictator, visionary, and opportunist, during his time in power Caesar expanded the borders of Rome to almost twice their previous size, revolutionized the infrastructure of the Roman state, and destroyed the Roman Republic for good, leaving a line of emperors in its place. His legacy is so strong that his name has become, in many languages, synonymous with power: the Emperors of Austria and Germany bore the title Kaiser, and the Czars of Russia also owe the etymology of their title to Caesar. His name also crept further eastward out of Europe, even cropping up in Hindi and Urdu, where the term for “Emperor” is Kaisar.
Even in his time, Caesar was in many ways larger than life, and because of his legacy as virtual founder of the Roman Empire, much of what was written about – and by – him during his life and immediately after his assassination was politically motivated. His successor, Octavian Augustus, had a strong interest in ensuring that Caesar’s life be painted in a favorable light, while Caesar’s political enemies attempted to paint him as a corrupt, undemocratic dictator who was destroying the old order of the Republic.
As Roman leaders vied with each other for power and constantly fought civil wars, Rome’s famous roads fall into disrepair, the economy was crippled, the continent-wide trade system that had flourished in the previous years was replaced with a basic barter system, and there was a reduction in international trade.

Adversity is an inherent part of life that comes in many forms—whether it's a personal struggle, a professional challenge, or a global crisis. It is something that everyone will face at some point, though its shape and size may vary. Often, adversity is perceived as a barrier, a force that stands in the way of success and happiness. However, adversity can also serve as a catalyst for growth, transformation, and self-discovery. To truly understand the nature of adversity, one must first accept that it is inevitable. No one is exempt from hardship, and this is not a reflection of personal failure or weakness. Instead, it is a universal experience that connects all human beings, regardless of age, background, or circumstance.
In many ways, adversity is an unavoidable part of the human condition. It tests our endurance, resilience, and ability to navigate difficult situations. While facing challenges can often feel overwhelming, it also provides an opportunity for individuals to tap into their inner strength and develop qualities like perseverance, patience, and emotional fortitude. The key lies in how we respond to adversity. The manner in which we approach difficulties can shape the outcome, transforming seemingly insurmountable obstacles into stepping stones for progress.
