Sinossi

In a world torn apart by hatred and violence, a young boy embarks on a perilous journey, a desperate quest for survival amidst the horrors of genocide. As he navigates a landscape of unimaginable brutality, he learns the profound value of unity, the transformative power of forgiveness, and the indomitable nature of hope.

This gripping tale transports readers to the front lines of a conflict that tests the limits of human endurance. Through the eyes of our young protagonist, we witness the atrocities of genocide firsthand, the systematic extermination of a people. We bear witness to the resilience of the human spirit as he fights to survive, to protect his family, and to find a glimmer of hope in a world consumed by darkness.

Along the way, he encounters a cast of unforgettable characters, each with their own unique story of survival and resilience: a courageous mother who risks everything to save her children, a wise elder who imparts the wisdom of the past, and a compassionate stranger who offers a lifeline of hope.

This book is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, a beacon of hope in a world often shrouded in darkness. It is a call to action, a reminder that we must never succumb to indifference or despair, that we must always stand up against tyranny and injustice, and that we must always strive to build a better future for all.

With its powerful storytelling and unforgettable characters, this book is a must-read for anyone who believes in the power of hope, the strength of the human spirit, and the importance of fighting for a better world. It is a story that will stay with you long after you finish reading it, a story that will inspire you to make a difference in the world.

STRESS HAS BECOME A FACT OF LIFE for far too many people today. Until now, the treatment of stress has mostly focused on behavioral changes, combined with talking about and noticing every thought, feeling, and sensation. But according to the metacognitive approach, this excessive focus on the self is what actually creates the problem. Worrying and ruminating are not simply a symptom of stress, but the causes of stress, preventing stress sufferers from fostering real change. Real change can only occur when the metacognitive management systems underlying behaviour are addressed by focusing not on what, but on how stress sufferers respond to their thinking. The thought is not important, but how they react to it, makes the difference.
This book comprises concrete examples of how a course of metacognitive therapy can be planned. The reader is invited into the therapy room to learn: how to apply the exercises of this method; what to remember during the therapy process; and which questions are important to ask the client. Metacognitive therapy is a part of the third wave of cognitive behavioural therapies and has shown promising results for clients with depression and anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety, social anxiety, PTSD, and OCD. This approach can also be helpful for stress sufferers. First and foremost, the client should learn that their thoughts do not create the problem, but, on the contrary, their response to them does. By applying metacognitive principles, the therapist or practitioner can help the client improve their cognitive management system at the metacognitive level, so that they can choose new and more effective strategies. The client has to reduce their worrying and ruminating before taking action on their actual problem.

Geronimo's Story of His Life" helped bridge the gap between Apache and American relations in a difficult time in American history. iIt is an outstanding memoir as the white man conquered the last of the Indian lands. Geronimo's dedication to peace between the American government and the Apache people is obvious .Even when the American government broke the peace treaty to allow his people to move to Florida unhindered, Geronimo remained honorable and maintained his side of the bargain.

Albert Einstein was a Zen master?
I think so, and I aim to prove it.
Imagine understanding how Einstein viewed the world, the Universe, and God. What if you could have the same understanding? How could it change your own outlook on life?
Dr. Matthew Barnes, chemist, biochemist, doctor, and bestselling author of The Emerald Tablet 101, The Hermetica 101, The Tao Te Ching 101, The Bhagavad Gita 101, and Jesus Christ, Zen Master presents his case for Einstein as being not only one of the most influential scientists of our time but also one of the most spiritual (in his own, unique way).
    In this work, you’ll discover:
       • In what ways Einstein’s views of reality coincide with those of some of the greatest Zen masters to have ever lived, past and present.
       • Why Einstein considered himself to be “a deeply religious nonbeliever”.
(Do you know what he considered himself to be instead?)
       • Why Einstein felt his viewpoints on God to be a “somewhat new kind of religion”.
(Hint: It turns out that his views may not have been all that new, but really really old instead.)
       • How you too can begin to enjoy Einstein’s view of the world, the Universe, and God.
“Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.” -Albert Einstein

"Once again give me this earth, once again the sky and universe, once again this land blessed by the moon, once again this land of plenty." The Rig Veda "Whenever we take birth, may our deeds be such that we get a pure mind, long life, good health, vitality, intellect, strong sense organs and a powerful body. In next life also, keep us away from bad deeds and indulge us in noble actions." The Yajur Veda 4.15 "One who conducts noble actions obtains noble lives in next births with strong body and sharp intellect. Those who conduct bad deeds get birth in lower species. To experience the fruits of past actions is natural trait of soul. After death, the soul resides in Vayu, Jala, Aushadhi etc. and again enters the womb to take next birth." Athar Veda 5.1.2 Death - it comes to us all. it is a sacrifice for the good life we lead at the end of our long fortuitous road. Or is it? For millenniums the yogis of India following the ancient Vedic path have clearly spoken about what we call in the west- life after death. To the unenlightened materialist life begins with birth and ends with the final inevitable dissolution of the gross material body. But to the enlightened ones ordinary life and death are seen as nothing particularly special - and at most the unclouded end of the infinite beginning. It is true that some of the more virtuous and godly among us may escape the never ending wheel of repeated birth and death however most are commanded to return to this material world by the process of reincarnation, or if they are particularly unlucky hover around this gross material sphere for untold eons as homeless, restless, disembodied, hopeless, spirits. It is of these unfortunate souls to whom we address this most unique Icon audiobook presentation. Here for the first time is the secret yoga of the ghostly realms and our rebirth beyond.

In Boston, 1776, author J. D. Dickey leads us through the turbulent streets, tub-thumping taverns, and radical strongholds of a town at war with an empire. Far from the powdered wigs and genteel debates of history textbooks, this book guides us through the real Boston of the American Revolution: frenzied, dangerous, and fiercely alive.Join the crowds in taprooms where rebel plots were hatched. Stand with patriots as they sharpen bayonets on Bunker Hill, and watch as Loyalists get tarred and feathered. Drink the rum made on the town docks, sample the sinful in the city's back alleys, and gaze at John Hancock's mansion gleaming above gritty streets filled with the almshouse, workhouse, and jail. From the harbor wharves and seedy brothels to renowned assembly halls like Old South Meetinghouse and Faneuil Hall, Boston, 1776 leads us on a vivid tour of the vital hub of the Revolutionary War. We encounter iconic names like Revere and Adams, but also the forgotten men and women who bled and brawled for freedom in every corner of Boston.Upon America's 250th anniversary, Boston, 1776 portrays the Cradle of Liberty and the American Revolution as never before: raw, radical, and roaring with life.
