Summary

In the heart of the American landscape, a storm is brewing—a storm of extremism and violence. Fueled by fear, anger, and disillusionment, the modern militia movement poses a clear and present danger to our national security and way of life.

In this groundbreaking book, we delve into the dark recesses of the militia movement, exposing its hidden networks, its dangerous ideologies, and its potential for catastrophic violence. We explore the factors that have contributed to its rise, from the erosion of trust in government to the proliferation of conspiracy theories. We examine the tactics employed by militia groups, from armed protests and standoffs to acts of violence and terrorism. And we investigate the impact of the militia movement on society, from the erosion of trust in government to the spread of fear and paranoia.

Through extensive research and interviews with experts, law enforcement officials, and former militia members, we paint a chilling portrait of a movement that is growing in strength and influence. We reveal the disturbing connections between militia groups and white supremacist organizations, anti-government extremists, and gun rights advocates. We expose the role of social media and conspiracy theories in radicalizing and mobilizing militia members. And we sound the alarm about the increasing risk of violence, both from lone wolves and organized militia groups.

This book is not just a warning; it is a call to action. We must confront the militia threat head-on, before it is too late. We must address the root causes of militia extremism, from economic inequality to the erosion of trust in government. We must support law enforcement efforts to disrupt militia networks and prevent acts of violence. And we must engage in a national dialogue about the dangers of extremism and the importance of civic engagement.

The future of our democracy is at stake. We cannot afford to ignore the gathering storm. We must act now to protect our communities, our country, and our way of life.

This book is a must-read for anyone concerned about the rise of extremism in America. It is a wake-up call for our leaders, our law enforcement agencies, and all citizens who cherish our democratic values.

A fascinating history of an ancient place.
From its first mention in legend in the Book of Invasions, through early Christian monastic settlements, castles and grand residences, Fenian raids and the Battle of Tallaght, there has been huge change in Tallaght. In more recent times it has seen car and motorcycle racing, an aerodrome, the rise and fall of a chocolate factory and a pioneering telecommunications firm. The massive population explosion and rapid modernisation towards the end of the twentieth century means this once-tiny village in Dublin's foothills is now home to over 80,000 people.
Richly illustrated with period photographs and original drawings by Michael O'Brien, Albert Perris tells the often-surprising story of Tallaght.

Unlock the more straightforward side of The Crucible with this concise and insightful summary and analysis! This engaging summary presents an analysis of The Crucible by Arthur Miller, a vivid allegory of the mass hysteria that swept through the town of Salem during the Salem Witch Trials. In spite of its historical subject matter, the play was chillingly topical at the time it was written: the 1950s were marked by McCarthyism, where accusations of Communism were rife and many Americans (including Miller himself) were hauled before the House Un-American Activities Committee to answer for their behaviour. Arthur Miller is considered one of the most influential dramatists of the 20th century, and The Crucible was one of his best-known plays. It remains popular today, and new productions of the play are frequently performed.Find out everything you need to know about The Crucible in a fraction of the time! This in-depth and informative reading guide brings you:• A complete plot summary• Character studies• Key themes and symbols• Questions for further reflectionWhy choose BrightSummaries.com?Available in print and digital format, our publications are designed to accompany you on your reading journey. "You can't see your true Self. [But] you can become it. Becoming your true Self is zazen."

As an orphan in the slums of Tsu City, Japan, Kodo Sawaki had to fight his way to adulthood, and became one of the most respected Zen masters of the twentieth century. He had a great understanding of Dogen Zenji's teaching and he knew how to express Dogen's philosophy. Sawaki's primary mission was to bring all people to an awareness of the Self, which he believed came through Zen meditation.

His humor and straightforward talk garnered Sawaki followers from all walks of life. Though he remained poor by choice, he was rich in spirit. Two of his students who became known in America as well as in Japan were Kosho Uchiyama, abbot of Antaiji Temple and author of Opening The Hand of Thought, and Gudo Nishijima, Zen teacher and translator of Dogen's Shobogenzo.

A student of Kosho Uchiyama, Arthur Braverman has compiled an anthology of Sawaki's writings and a garland of sayings gathered from throughout his lifetime. One of a few collections of Sawaki's teachings published in English, his life and work bracket the most intriguing and influential period of modern Zen practice in Japan and America.
