Inside The Greatest Battles of World War II, you will discover:
    ●      major events and battle from the invasion of Poland and Dunkirk to Operation Overlord and the fateful day of June 6, 1944, when Nazi efforts all came crashing down.
    ●      the intricately planned military and intelligence efforts on the part of the US and its allies, which were key to the victory and end of the war.
    ●      what the fate of the war might have been if these battles had gone differently, and how even the minutest details enabled the takedown of Hitler and the Nazi Party.
    ●      how each and every event contributed to the drawn-out war, the eventual victory of the Allied Powers, and their far-reaching impact on the world, politics, and modern history.
…plus key facts of every battle and military move for a well-rounded WWII education without the distracting and unnecessary details.

This is a combo of 2 books:
1: The Unification of Germany had a significant impact on the whole country, the empire, and the decades after that. It was the inauguration for Germany into the 20th century, and the dreaded World War I and World War II that were partially consequences of that unification. On January 18th, 1871, in the Palace of Versailles in France, Germany was lawfully merged into the German Empire, a Prussia-dominated country state with federal components. Throughout the Franco-Prussian War, princes of German countries assembled there to declare King Wilhelm I of Prussia Emperor of the German Empire. The Treaty of Verdun in 843 developed a confederated kingdom of German princedoms that had existed for over 1,000 years. Even so, till 1800, there was no development of a German country identity, owing to the independent nature of baronial states; most occupants of the Holy Roman Empire, beyond those straight governed by the emperor, determined themselves mainly with their prince, instead of with the Empire as a whole. Kleinstaaterei, or "small-statery," happened called a result of this practice. Improvements in transport and interactions brought these areas closer together by the nineteenth century.
2: To summarize everything about this topic, the Weimar Republic was a disaster. Perhaps the setup of the republic wasn’t as much as fault as just the world events that led to the Great Depression, the eventual surrender of Germany to France, Russia, and England in World War I before that, and other significant changes in the economy at the time.
The Weimar Republic was a federal constitutional republic that lasted in Germany from 1918 to 1933. The German Reich (Deutsches Reich) was the main name of the state, which was also referred to as the German Republic (Deutsche Republik). The first word associates with the city of Weimar, which hosted the republic's first constituent assembly.

Brought to you by Altrusian Grace Media and narrated by Matthew Schmitz.
Meditations is a series of personal writings by Marcus Aurelius, Roman Emperor from AD 161 to 180, recording his private notes to himself and ideas on Stoic philosophy.
Marcus Aurelius wrote the 12 books of the Meditations in Koine Greek as a source for his own guidance and self-improvement. It is possible that large portions of the work were written at Sirmium, where he spent much time planning military campaigns from 170 to 180. Some of it was written while he was positioned at Aquincum on campaign in Pannonia, because internal notes reveal that the first book was written when he was campaigning against the Quadi on the river Granova (modern-day Hron in Slovakia) and the second book was written at Carnuntum.
It is unlikely that Marcus Aurelius ever intended the writings to be published. The work has no official title, so "Meditations" is one of several titles commonly assigned to the collection. These writings take the form of quotations varying in length from one sentence to long paragraphs.

A policewoman chronicles her historic legal battle against sexism within the LAPD in this “valuable . . . and at times, frightening” memoir (Kirkus Reviews). Former Army major Fanchon Blake dreamed of becoming a top cop. She joined the LAPD in 1948, confident that her efforts and talent would be rewarded. Instead, despite long hours and high achievement ratings, Blake—like all other women on the force—was denied promotion time and again. Over the years, the tenacious officer challenged the LAPD’s discriminatory agenda from within. Eventually, she broke the “blue wall of silence” by going to the press. And when all else failed, Blake saw one last chance to effect change: she filed a complaint against the LAPD with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in 1973. What followed was a harrowing struggle against discrimination that would make history for women and other minority groups. Despite the ensuing verbal abuse, silent treatment, and intimidation, Blake pushed on. Seven years later, her heroic efforts would finally make it possible for women to bust through the brass ceiling.
