In "The Head of Kay's," P. G. Wodehouse masterfully delves into the vibrant world of British boarding schools with his characteristic wit and comedic flair. Set against the backdrop of Kay's, a fictitious and prestigious educational institution, the narrative weaves together the threads of camaraderie, rivalry, and youthful mischief. Wodehouse employs his hallmark style, marked by whimsical characterization and clever dialogue, to explore themes of leadership, friendship, and the complexities of adolescence, all while providing a poignant yet humorous commentary on social hierarchies and the ideals of education in early 20th-century England. P. G. Wodehouse, born in 1881, was a prominent British author and humorist celebrated for his unique voice and ability to bring to life the absurdities of upper-class British society. Joe, who’s abducted along with his girlfriend by a sinister ‘Christian’ cult, which leaves the kids to die, hogtied and helpless in a derelict drainage tunnel slowly filling with sewage. Watched by the world’s media, Winston, Daisy and Bart reunite to use fame and the Daisy Chain to save two teenage lives  and their own souls  from the filth that’s about to drown them. Wotcha! is a comic spit in the eye of born again zealots with a wink and a twinkle to the rest of us  but it’s also deadly serious. Mining a rich seam of coalblack humour and sex, drugs and rock and roll, it starts on a bittersweet nostalgia trip and builds up to the pace of a thriller. CONTROVERSIAL STUFF? Its themes and explicit language make this a candidate for one of those ‘parental advisory’ stickers they put on CDs these days. Does that make WOTCHA! a book that people aged under sixteen shouldn’t read? In the author’s opinion  absolutely not. ‘If rude words and references to sex, drugs and rock and roll upset you per se, this book’s not for you. But if you believe, as I do, that a sense of humour is what separates “naughty” from “evil”, I think you might enjoy this story, laugh at the funny bits, think about the serious bits and read the redemption between the lines.’

Another perfect holiday read with lots of romance and laugh out loud comedy, Chasing Victory is the fourth entry in the Dartmouth Diaries.

Kit Davies has been dating the gorgeous Captain Jason Buchannan for six months. Six whole months of being wheeled out as his significant other at various Naval functions. While she's not convinced she has the makings of a future Officer's wife, things have been pretty good, and at least she hasn't caused a diplomatic incident - yet.

Then one memorable evening, Jason drops a bombshell. His father’s health is failing and he wants to retire from the Royal Navy, and relocate to his crumbling ancestral home in the wilds of Scotland. And he wants Kit to go with him.

But Kit has too much unfinished business in Dartmouth to just up sticks and leave. She’s worked hard to build up her Event Management business, then there’s her best friend Tory who’s just had a baby, and her Aunt Flo who to date still hasn’t told Kit the whole truth about her father.

When Hollywood superstar Noah Westbrook agrees to help finance Jason’s plans to convert his pile of ruins into a luxury hotel, Kit begins to get desperate. How can she leave everything she’s ever known for a man she’s only known for six months? It’s no secret that she has trust issues, not to mention a ridiculous fear of change. In fact, burying her head in the sand is probably her strongest talent...

Decision time comes as Jason’s father Hugo goes missing from hospital. It’s no surprise to anyone that Tory’s irresponsible father is at the bottom of it, but in deciding to drag his old friend on an impromptu road trip across the country, the meddling Admiral may finally have gone too far…

Chasing Victory is the perfect laugh-out-loud, feel good book for fans of funny love stories, especially quirky British Romantic Comedies.
