Sinossi

Lost Cities in Parks reveals the hidden histories within America's national parks, exploring pre-Columbian settlements and early European impacts. These parks aren't just natural wonders; they're also significant historical sites holding clues to past civilizations. The book emphasizes the importance of understanding the diverse narratives often overlooked in traditional American history. For example, archaeological evidence reveals that ancient peoples adapted and thrived in environments we now consider pristine wilderness.

The book progresses by first introducing national parks as cultural heritage repositories. It then examines specific sites like Mesa Verde and Cahokia Mounds, highlighting their history and cultural significance. Preservation challenges, from natural erosion to development pressures, are also explored, alongside ethical considerations in managing these resources.

The overarching goal is to promote public education and engagement to protect these invaluable cultural landscapes for future generations, ensuring these stories continue to be told.

In today's world, something strange is happening: Celebrities like Kat Von D and Russell Brand are embracing Catholicism, finding allure in its newfound status as a counter-cultural symbol among media personalities, influencers, and the literati. Tech titans like Elon Musk and Peter Thiel are shirking the rationalist modus-operandi, making open allusions to the arcane, and even funding research into occult phenomena. This unexpected shift raises pressing questions: What is driving these influential individuals in secular liberal democracies to embrace ancient religious institutions, fringe mysticism, and what only a decade ago would have been ridiculed as conspiracy?Late-Stage Babylon delves into this post-secular spiritual crisis, offering insights and guidance in navigating these turbulent swings of the spiritual pendulum.
As we enter a new age where the arcane and the obscure hold sway, Late-Stage Babylon serves as a guide, illuminating the path forward in the murky territory that's been brought about by the resurgence of long-dormant forces in the collective psyche.

    Lena Elisabet, Unrepeatable Beauty

In a world where the female body has become the quiet battlefield of ideological warfare, Peace Strategy offers a radical lens—one that refuses to play by inherited rules. This book is not a manifesto of rage, nor a cry for permission. It is a sovereign declaration from the gaze of a woman who has seen the game, decoded its symbols, and chosen to exit.
Across borders and belief systems, women are commodified in the name of freedom, contained in the name of honor, and silenced in the name of protection. Western capitalism sells empowerment as a product. Eastern fundamentalism cloaks control in reverence. Both claim to serve women. Neither offers her full autonomy.
Peace Strategy is a book for those who are ready to confront the contradiction. For world leaders who legislate bodies without understanding their sacredness. For cultural influencers who shape narratives without reckoning with their consequences. For women who know too much and refuse to stay silent.
Through visual metaphor, political insight, and emotional clarity, Lena Elisabet builds a new framework—one that reclaims sovereignty without severing collaboration, that honors dignity without denying complexity. This is not a war manual. It is a strategy for peace—where power is redefined, beauty is reclaimed, and the female gaze becomes the compass for a new world.

    Sexism - The Persistent Struggle...

Sexism, a deeply entrenched social issue, has been pervasive throughout human history, shaping the experiences of individuals and communities across the globe. At its core, sexism refers to the belief that one gender is superior to another, typically manifesting in the unequal treatment and opportunities given to individuals based on their gender. While this issue affects all genders, it is most commonly seen in the discrimination against women and girls, who have been historically marginalized and denied the same rights and opportunities as their male counterparts. Understanding the complexities of sexism is essential to grasp the ongoing struggle for gender equality, a fight that has evolved over centuries and continues to be relevant today.
The importance of gender equality cannot be overstated. It is not only a matter of fairness and justice, but also a key component in building a more prosperous and harmonious society. Gender equality allows individuals to reach their full potential, irrespective of their gender, contributing to economic growth, social development, and personal fulfillment. When men, women, and non-binary individuals have equal access to education, employment, healthcare, and political representation, the entire community benefits. Yet, despite significant progress, gender inequality remains a persistent challenge in many areas of life, from the workplace to the family home, from education to politics.
This book explores the multifaceted nature of sexism and the ongoing battle for gender equality around the world. It examines the historical roots of sexism, the cultural and religious influences that perpetuate gender discrimination, and the role of feminist movements in challenging the status quo. It also delves into the modern-day manifestations of sexism, including the gender pay gap, barriers to education, and underrepresentation in leadership positions.

This is the unknown story of the combat engineers who kept World War I running. Although it has been repeatedly denied by the army, they were the first Australians to land at Anzac Cove: in any combat, even today, sappers are always the first in and last out.

They were airbrushed out of history. Official historian Charles Bean claimed the first Australian ashore at the Gallipoli landing on 25 April 1915 was an infantry officer. But Bean wasn't there, and a bunch of Australian and New Zealand army engineers were. Even today, the army is reluctant to accept that sappers were among the very first Australian soldiers ashore.

This is the untold story of the Australian and New Zealand sappers - combat engineers - who fought in World War I. They were always in the vanguard, clearing defences, and building bridges, roads and walkways for the troops who followed, usually under fire. At Gallipoli, strafed by machine guns and targeted by snipers, they dug trenches and tunnels to advance on the Turkish defences. On the Western Front, they burrowed under the German lines to plant massive explosives, whose eruption could be heard in England. In Egypt they demolished a Turkish railway in a day.

From Gallipoli to the sands of the Middle East, to the blood-soaked battlefields of France and Belgium, engineers put down their tools to also fight as combat soldiers at every major battle and campaign, often with heroic feats of astonishing courage. Three sappers stole a giant field gun from under German noses at Amiens. Sappers were classic Aussie larrikins, indefatigably practical men who don't take kindly to bureaucracy. Typically under-appreciated, two were cheated of their well-earned VCs by a British general after they, working alone, tricked a German platoon into surrendering.

'Sappers are the unsung heroes of the First World War and this book helps bring them back into the limelight where they belong.' WILL DAVIES, Beneath Hill 60

'It has taken 111 years for true stories to appear in a book adequately honouring Australian sappers in WW1 - you will remember these heroes forever'. COLONEL SANDY MACGREGOR MC (rtd)

'An excellent insight into the role of the Field Engineers as part of the combined arms team in World War One' BRIGADIER MICK SAY DSC, Head of Corps, Royal Australian Engineers
