The level of Earth’s Oceans have changed many times over the millennia.
Global sea level rose by a total of more than 120 meters (360 feet) as the vast ice sheets of the last Ice Age melted back. This melt-back lasted from about 19,000 to about 6,000 years ago, meaning that the average rate of sea-level rise was roughly 1 meter per century.
Since many early cities and civilizations were built near the coast, there must be many submerged ruins around the world we are not yet familiar with. The study of these ruins is one of the great unmapped needs for future archeology.
We do know about a few of these ruins and are learning much more. This book is a summary of what we know or think we know today about these lost civilizations, cities, and towns.
I’ve also included the stories of many legendary cities or locations like Atlantis and Lemuria.

    Hallelujah Junction - Composing...

John Adams is one of the most respected and loved of contemporary composers, and "he has won his eminence fair and square: he has aimed high, he has addressed life as it is lived now, and he has found a language that makes sense to a wide audience" (Alex Ross, The New Yorker). Now, in Hallelujah Junction, he incisively relates his life story, from his childhood to his early studies in classical composition amid the musical and social ferment of the 1960s, from his landmark minimalist innovations to his controversial "docu-operas." Adams offers a no-holds-barred portrait of the rich musical scene of 1970s California, and of his contemporaries and colleagues, including John Cage, Steve Reich, and Philip Glass. He describes the process of writing, rehearsing, and performing his renowned works, as well as both the pleasures and the challenges of writing serious music in a country and a time largely preoccupied with pop culture.Hallelujah Junction is a thoughtful and original memoir that will appeal to both longtime Adams fans and newcomers to contemporary music. Not since Leonard Bernstein's Findings has an eminent composer so candidly and accessibly explored his life and work. This searching self-portrait offers not only a glimpse into the work and world of one of our leading artists, but also an intimate look at one of the most exciting chapters in contemporary culture.

This is Steve Beat’s tale of monsters and mayhem. Actually, I just said this was Steve beat’s tale of monsters and mayhem, in case I am not permitted to set the story straight of why Steve Beat’s musical production in his original release of “Getting to Know Steve Beat Before His Journey to the Planet of the Apes was not up to par. To make it up to perhaps history and more importantly the potential viewers or listeners of which I suspect there will be very few, I have released two new songs that are part of this production that took a great deal of effort and also provide an explanation of why the music was subpar between the first production of Steve Beat and today. I hope you are not forced to read my writing, although if you are, I have done what I can to make an explanation of why my music was subpar during an initial production as entertaining as I possibly can. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the music as you will certainly be the first person and hopefully not the last, who hears my new track entitled Bring that Beat that is currently not available to the public anywhere and also my other track warm welcome.

Vs. is the sound of a band on fire. The same confluence of talent, passion, timing, and fate that made “grunge” the world’s soundtrack also lit a short fuse beneath Pearl Jam. The band combusted between late 1992 and mid-1994, the span during which they planned, recorded, and supported their sophomore record. The spotlight, the pressure, the pace—it all nearly turned the thriving act to ash.Eddie Vedder, the reluctant public face of the band, responded by lashing out lyrically. Jeff Ament, Mike McCready, and Stone Gossard, who beheld success with varying degrees of anxious satisfaction, attacked their instruments in solidarity. Dave Abbruzzese welcomed the rock-star lifestyle, and left his mark on the record with more than just potent percussion.Vs. roils with fury—and at times, gently steams—over the trappings of fame, human faults, and societal injustice. The record is a thrashing testament to Pearl Jam’s urgent creativity and greater-good interests, and the band’s logistical calculations behind it drew a career-defining line in the sand. It promised the world that Pearl Jam would neither burn out nor fade away. This book weaves research, little-known details, and band members’ memories into a definitive account of how Vs. set them on a path toward enduring integrity and relevance.

    Necessary Death - What Horror...

Based on very real and practical commentary, life experience, and occasionally, tongue-in-cheek-misfortunes of horror legends, Necessary Death explores how the horror genre offers individuals a unique opportunity for insight and understanding of their own lives.

Using some of the most quintessential movies in the genre, Chris Grosso and Preston Fassel invite listeners to an in-depth examination of the human condition—its fears, anxieties, hopes, joys, sorrows, and everything in-between—and how it's all grist for our personal and collective evolutionary mill. A hallmark of the genre is how horror films force their characters to find some semblance of inner strength and wherewithal in order to stand up to the monster, ghost, or villain that is trying to take their lives. Through fascinating discussion of this and other elements, Fassel and Grosso relate these films' dark subject matter and characters to real world issues people face every day. This sharp analysis is complemented by exercises that prompt listeners to consider gratitude, forgiveness, determination, and bravery in the face of adversity.

An unusual mix of film study and self-help, Necessary Death might surprise or even shock listeners, but it will also enlighten, educate, and most importantly hearten those looking for an unexpected source of inspiration.
