~~~~~ PG Excerpt ~~~~~
The club was as upmarket and vibrant as Eve had suggested.
Chic waitresses in skimpy outfits served overpriced drinks to a group of nice looking people in their thirties, mostly.
The place was smaller than I’d expected.
“When I think about a trendy place, I guess I expected something bigger.”
She laughed. “This is just part of it. I read about this place online. This is the entry hall,” she said.
“What do you mean?”
She nodded toward a door. I looked and saw a small, innocuous door. A sign over it said: “Doorway to the wild side.”
“Weird,” I said. “Why are we out here?”
“This is the public bar. Anyone can drop in and have a drink. It’s a pickup place. For some people, most people, this is it. But on the other side of that door… Well, the Wild Side is a private club and by invitation only.”
“And how do you get an invitation to enter?”
She licked her lips. “You have to entice a member. Make them think you are ready and willing for a walk on the wild side.”
As she said that, a young, clean-cut guy in an expensive suit came over to our table and looked us over.
“Hello,” he said, cheerfully. “Mind if I join you?”
I nodded and he took a stool between us at the high table.
Having him there was fine with me. There were a lot of muscles under that suit. He had to be over six-two and probably weighed in at over two hundred pounds.
“New here?” he asked.
“Just arrived,” Eve said. “But you knew that.”
“How do you know of the place?”
Eve was grinning and leaning back a little to give him a view of her cleavage.
“Hot rumors suggest it's a fun place. Which is why we came.”
    The first account of the Allied navies' vital contribution to the success of the D-Day landings and the Normandy campaign
    The Allied liberation of Nazi-occupied Europe is one of the most widely recognized events of modern history. The assault phase, Operation Neptune, began with the D-Day landings in Normandy—one of the most complex amphibious operations in history, involving 7,000 ships and nearly 200,000 men. But despite this immense effort, the wider naval campaign has been broadly forgotten.
    Nick Hewitt draws on fascinating new material to describe the violent sea battle which mirrored the fighting on land, and the complex campaign at sea which enabled the Allied assault. Aboard ships ranging from frail plywood landing craft to sleek destroyers, sailors were active combatants in the operation of June 1944, and had worked tirelessly to secure the Seine Bay in the months preceding it. They fought battles against German submarines, aircraft, and warships, and maintained careful watch to keep control of the English Channel.
    Hewitt recounts these sailors' stories for the first time—and shows how, without their efforts, D-Day would have failed.
    The Six Goswamis of Vrindavan was a group of scholars and devotees who lived in Vrindavan during the 16th century. The group consisted of Rupa Goswami, Sanatana Goswami, Jiva Goswami, Gopal Bhatta Goswami, Raghunatha Bhatta Goswami, and Raghunatha Dasa Goswami. They were instrumental in the development of the Gaudiya Vaishnavism tradition and the spread of the Bhakti yoga movement. They were known for their scholarship, devotion, and austere lifestyle, and were revered by the people of Vrindavan and beyond.
    The Six Goswamis of Vrindavan left a lasting impact on the development of Hinduism, particularly the Gaudiya Vaishnavism tradition. They wrote extensively on the philosophy, theology, and practices of Bhakti, and their works continue to be studied and revered by scholars and devotees alike. Their teachings emphasized the importance of devotion to Krishna as the ultimate path to liberation, and their writings provide insight into the practices and rituals of Bhakti, as well as the historical and cultural context of the Bhakti movement. The legacy of the Six Goswamis of Vrindavan continues to inspire and guide those who seek a deeper understanding of the path of devotion.
    “When I finished Witness to Roswell, I said to myself, ‘Case closed!’ for the very wealth and sheer weight of eyewitness testimony.”—George Noory, host, Coast to Coast AM This classic in the field of UFOology is filled with hard-hitting eyewitness testimony of one of the most important events of all time: the actual recovery of a UFO outside of Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947. For more than 70 years, government authorities have led us to believe the wreckage was merely a very conventional weather balloon—but the witnesses who were there continue to tell a different story.Witness to Roswell once again provides a "can't put down" written account of what really transpired in Roswell decades ago. It pries loose the truth the government doesn't want us to know including the revelations of Walter Haut. This edition includes: A growing litany of deathbed confessions describing the "little people" recovered at the crash site.The most comprehensive time line of events ever published on this seminal event.The identity of the Boeing engineer called in to examine the exotic wreckage from the crash.What really took place at the Roswell base hospital and what nurse actually ordered the children’s caskets.The story of the soldier who wore gloves at the dinner table after guarding the "bodies." Clearly, the implications of this information are foreboding. One need only look at the fact that officials now have four explanations for this historic event—but to which one do all the witnesses testify on their deathbeds?Witness to Roswell once again demonstrates to the world that no statute of limitation applies to the truth: We are not alone. This anniversary edition includes a new introduction by the authors and additional material.
    Recent studies have found that as many as one in five Americans have experimented with some form of sexual non-monogamy, and approximately one in fifteen knows someone who was or is polyamorous. The mainstream media has increasingly covered polyamorous lifestyles and the committed relationships of throuples, and dating apps have added polyamory as a status option.
    This book is the first history to trace the evolution of polyamorous thought and practice within the broader context of American culture. Drawing on personal journals and letters, underground newsletters, and publications from the Kinsey Institute Archives, among other sources, it reconstructs polyamory's intellectual foundations, highlighting its unique blend of conservative political thought and countercultural spiritualism. Christopher M. Gleason locates its early foundations in the Roaring Twenties among bohemians. In the 1950s and 1960s it surprisingly emerged among libertarian science fiction writers. Throughout the 1990s, polyamorists utilized the internet to spread their ideas, often undermining any remaining religious or spiritual significance their ideas held.
    Offering an original perspective on sexuality, marriage, and the family, American Poly reveals the history of polyamory in the United States from fringe practice to a new stage of the sexual revolution.
