Summary

An important book for readers of all ages, Irvine Press brings quality biographies for kids through engagingly written volumes of true-to-life stories of important figures in history.

Our message is simple: Dream Big, We'll Show You How.

Lester Clarkson and Billy Smith, together with John Clarkson, Lester’s cousin, were eager to start their summer vacation with an exciting escapade. The three friends decided to go visit the venue of the upcoming Hot Air Balloon International Fiesta in New Mexico, a day before the event. They got a free pass and tour because Lester’s father is one of the organizers. While they were having a tour with Jordan, Peter’s assistant, the three boys managed to sneak out from Peter. The three ended up hiding inside one of the hot air balloons. Lester thought of something and decided to fly and steer the hot air balloon since he has knowledge as well.  In the middle of their ride, heavy rain started to fall. Unfortunately, the rope from the hot air balloon that was connected to the ground was faulty. The boys’ hot air balloon ended up crashing into the unfamiliar woods of the Rocky Mountains. Will they be able to find their way home safely before it gets dark?

Among these biographies, readers will find exceptional and notable men and women across varying disciplines to instill a sense of purpose and goal oriented living from an early age. Discover how each life was shaped and transformed through passion, determination, grit.

A Chessboard Shrouded in Mystery. A Pawn's Forbidden Dream. A Battle for Identity and Power.
In the dead of night, under the silver gaze of the moon, the white chess pieces gather around their queen. Tension hangs heavy as the White Queen's voice slices through the silence: “There is a traitor among us.” Accusations fly, fear spreads, and the battlefield shivers under the weight of her words.
In a world where hierarchy rules and destiny is preordained, Lisa, a humble pawn, dares to dream the impossible—to reach the legendary Eighth Row and become a queen. But the White Queen's warning echoes ominously:
"You can only be what you were made to be. A pawn can never be a queen."
    Or can she?
When Lisa confesses her forbidden ambition, she expects exile, but what she finds is an ally in the unlikeliest of places—Knight Henry, whose defiance of tradition ignites a spark of hope. With his help, and the loyalty of her best friend, Knight Tomas, Lisa embarks on a treacherous journey across enemy lines.
But in the shadows of the chessboard, loyalties are tested, truths are twisted, and a darkness looms—one that threatens to consume not just Lisa’s dream, but her very heart.
Will Lisa defy fate and claim the crown she so desperately desires?
Or will she fall prey to the darkness that comes with breaking the rules?
In a world where order is absolute and power is merciless, one pawn's courage could change everything... or destroy it.
Step into a world of intrigue, power, and the price of ambition.
"The Eighth Row" is a spellbinding allegory of identity, ambition, and the cost of breaking free. Perfect for fans of dark fairy tales and thought-provoking fables.

Treasure Island is an adventure novel by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, narrating a tale of 'buccaneers and buried gold'. First published as a book on 23 May 1883, it was originally serialized in the children's magazine Young Folks between 1881 and 1882 under the title Treasure Island or, the mutiny of the Hispaniola with Stevenson adopting the pseudonym Captain George North. Traditionally considered a coming-of-age story, Treasure Island is a tale noted for its atmosphere, characters and action, and also as a wry commentary on the ambiguity of morality - as seen in Long John Silver - unusual for children's literature. It is one of the most frequently dramatized of all novels. The influence of Treasure Island on popular perceptions of pirates is enormous, including such elements as treasure maps marked with an 'X', schooners, the Black Spot, tropical islands, and one-legged seamen bearing parrots on their shoulders. Since its publication in 1883, Treasure Island has provided an enduring literary model for such eminent writers as Anthony Hope, Graham Greene, and Jorge Luis Borges. As David Daiches wrote: ""Robert Louis Stevenson transformed the Victorian boys' adventure into a classic of its kind.""
