  1 - As King Henry VIII's 2nd marriage partner, Anne Boleyn ruled as Queen of England from 1533 till 1536. Her marriage and execution by beheading for treason and other criminal offenses made her an essential player in the political and religious chaos that identified the start of the English Reformation. Anne was the daughter of Thomas Boleyn, first Earl of Wiltshire, and his marriage partner, Girl Elizabeth Howard. She got her education in Holland and France, mainly as a housemaid of honor to Queen Claude of France. Anne went to England in early 1522, meaning to wed her Irish cousin James Butler, 9th Earl of Ormond; nevertheless, the marriage failed, and she found work as a housemaid of honor to Henry VIII's partner, Catherine of Aragon. 
  2 - Mary I, typically called Mary Tudor and called "Bloody Mary" by her Protestant challengers, ruled as Queen of England and Ireland from July 1553 till November 17th, 1558. She is well recalled for her solid attempts to reverse the English Reformation, which started throughout her dad's reign, Henry VIII's reign. 
  Bloody Mary was cruel, cold, and from what we know, there was a cause for this. Let’s take a look at her life, her problems, and the way she handled them. 
  3 - From 768 to 800, Charlemagne, also referred to as Charles the Great, was King of the Franks, King of the Lombards, and Emperor of the Romans. Charlemagne combined many western and main Europe at the time of the Early Middle Ages. Since the fall of the Western Roman Empire 3 centuries before, he was the first acknowledged emperor to rule from western Europe. The Carolingian Empire is the name given to Charlemagne's broadening Frankish world. Antipope Paschal the Third later canonized him.

  1, the Gauls: This is a book about a people that has often been overlooked. Wallowing in the shadow of the seemingly almighty Romans, and dispersed throughout the ages into other peoples, the Gauls appear as if they had nothing going for them. Quite the opposite is true. The Gauls had a distinct culture, with habits, warfare, and so much more to offer to the intrigued historian and everyday researcher. 
  Throughout the Iron Age and the Roman period, the Gauls were a collection of Celtic tribes from Continental Europe (circa from the fifth century BC to the fifth century advertisement). Gaul was the name of the area where they used to live. Their Gaulish language is the significant branch of the Celtic languages of the continent. 
  2, the Huguenots: An important chapter in history is that in which the Catholic Church was being questioned by the commoners. People were standing up against tyranny and illogical rules. They had had it with hypocrisy and double standards. The abuse in the church wasn’t representing the text in the Bible. Too much corruption had crept into the clergy, or so the narrative went about across the entire European continent. 
  The Huguenots were a spiritual group of French Protestants who complied with the Reformed, or Calvinist, Protestant custom. The expression originates from the name of a Swiss politician, Genevan burgomaster Bezanson Hugues (from about 1491 - 1532) and was commonly used in Europe by the 16th century. Huguenot was a term used throughout the Protestant Reformation to describe members of the Reformed Church of France. It came from the Dutch “huisgenoten” and was used throughout the revolution that led to the entire Reformation.

  Most people know what the Holocaust was. They have at least a vague image of what transpired in Europe during the 1940s. Still, the details may be blurry. So, let’s take a look at history and the events that shocked the world. And even though this was clearly not the first genocide in the world, it was one of particular proportions and scale, and therefore noteworthy. 
  At the time of The Second World War, the Holocaust, also referred to as the Shoah, was a genocide of European Jews. Between 1941 and 1945, Nazi Germany and its allies killed around 6 million Jews in German-occupied Europe, representing about two-thirds of Europe's Jewish population. The killings happened in pogroms and mass shootings, and also through a technique of extermination by labor in prisoner-of-war camp and in gas chambers and gas vans in German extermination camps, mostly Auschwitz-Birkenau, Majdanek, Sobibór, Beec, Chemno, and Treblinka in occupied Poland. 
  The Holocaust is one of those things that people remember as something they want to “never again” happen to humanity. Let’s hope that they can hold up to this ideal. Either way, let’s dive into the past and explore what led up to it, the magnitude of the murders and the methods the Nazis used.
