Sinossi

In The Strength of a Thoughtful Pause, Addalie embarks on a transformative journey of self-discovery, learning that a single moment of pause can change everything. When emotions run high or challenges arise, Addalie often reacts quickly, only to regret her choices later. But when a wise neighbor introduces her to the power of pausing, she discovers a world of thoughtful responses, inner calm, and emotional control.

Through relatable adventures, including misunderstandings with friends, facing fears, and overcoming setbacks, Addalie learns to pause, reflect, and respond with intention. Each chapter introduces practical techniques—like the “pause and breathe” method, visualization exercises, and mindful listening—helping children aged 5 to 10 manage their emotions and make better decisions.

Beautifully written and filled with heartwarming lessons, this book emphasizes diversity, equality, and inclusion. It inspires children to develop mindfulness, self-regulation, and emotional intelligence while celebrating the strength found in taking a thoughtful pause. Accompanied by interactive activities, The Strength of a Thoughtful Pause empowers children to create calmer, more meaningful relationships with themselves and others.

This collection of Christmas nursery rhymes, complete with book cover images, and accompanying opening/closing song and background music, is designed to be a comprehensive and immersive holiday experience for children and families. The primary purpose of these rhymes is to capture the magic, wonder, and diverse traditions of the Christmas season in a format that is both engaging and accessible to young minds, particularly those aged six to eight.
The intent behind this collection is multifaceted. First, it seeks to provide a fresh and original source of festive storytelling that goes beyond the classic carols and rhymes. By introducing new characters, such as (in later collections) the Christmas starfish and the caroling mice, alongside beloved figures like Santa Claus and the Nutcracker, the collection aims to spark children's imaginations and create new holiday traditions. The rhymes are crafted to be easily readable and memorable, with rhythmic verses that support early literacy skills and a love for poetry.
Furthermore, the collection is designed to be a versatile resource for parents and educators. These shorter rhymes are perfect for recitation and memorization and offer narratives for bedtime stories or classroom reading. The inclusion of opening and closing songs transforms the book into a potential musical or theatrical production, encouraging creative expression and performance.

Nothing is impossible—not even being brave enough to ice skate again after a fall! With a poetic text and dazzling illustrations, Come Catch a Dream will appeal to every child chasing their dream, and fans of The Snowy Day, Jabari Jumps, and After the Fall.
A young Black child passes an ice rink every day walking home with Momma. Last year, the rink was tricky. It looked clear and smooth, but felt rough and rude after a fall. Brrr! Ouch! Even so, the child hasn’t been able to stop thinking about that rink. The young skater is determined to do something for the first time: a spin on the ice. Because, as Momma says, nothing is impossible.
Award-winning author Brittany J. Thurman’s rich use of language and rhythm makes for a text that is perfect for reading aloud, while illustrator Islenia Mil’s vibrant artwork captures the anticipation and excitement of a winter day at the ice rink. For fans of Gaia Cornwall and Dan Santat.

Anselm is probably the greatest theologian who lived during the time between Augustine of Hippo and Thomas Aquinas. His compelling yearning to know and love God as He is revealed to us in Scriptures shaped his life and permeates all of his writings. He found the greatest joy in communion with God, but was thrusted into the difficult political scene of the 11th-12th centuries. He didn't work well with kings and, at one point, he had most of the English leaders against him. Still, his writings have had a great influence on the Christian church, and his teachings about Christ's sacrifice and about the relation between faith and reason are a vital part of the historical Christian Confessions. What can Anselm teach our children? To be inquisitive and use their minds as God's gifts to discover and understand what He has revealed in His word (Deut.29:29). Particularly, I hope the children will take time to consider and explore Anselm's question: Why a God-man? What is the meaning of Christ's sacrifice on the cross? What do we mean when we say, "Jesus died for our sins"?  Our understanding of Christ's atonement shapes all of our theology and our lives.
