Sinossi

The story tells of a tree which no one likes because of the way he looks, however this tree can speak and he tells of his feelings of rejection. It provides a lesson for children of all ages. No matter how you look outside there is beauty within. A remarkable ending.

Mary Ann Concilio embarked upon her creative journey at an early age. As a marketing rep for McCann Erickson, she assisted producers in the development of commercials for television programs such as A Charlie Brown Christmas. She enjoys charcoal sketching and photography, and Guild Hall in New York and Treasures and Trifles in Virginia have displayed her work. She was first published in the Hampton Press in New York, with the display of her unique presentation "The American Flag" for the July 4th celebration.Receiving an award for her "Winter Scene" at the Nature Center in New York, she also read at The Yonkers Library for young children. This inspired her to write about "Tommy the Talking Christmas Tree," which is loosely based on her cousin who lives with autism. She aspires to be a role model and confidante to those children who are challenged and in need of guidance.

The Civil War is best remembered for the big battles and the legendary generals who fought on both sides, like Robert E. Lee facing off against Ulysses S. Grant in 1864. In kind, the Eastern Theater has always drawn more interest and attention than the West. However, while massive armies marched around the country fighting each other, there were other small guerrilla groups that engaged in irregular warfare on the margins, and perhaps the most famous of them was led by Colonel John Mosby. Mosby, the “Gray Ghost” of the Confederate lore that celebrates the Lost Cause, has an image that has proven nearly impossible to corrupt or change, and time has done little good against it. Unlike the vanished 19th century code of honor that he represented, Mosby has retained the image and all its connotations.
Quantrill’s Raiders operated along the border between Missouri and Kansas, which had been the scene of partisan fighting over a decade earlier during the debate over whether Kansas and Nebraska would enter the Union as free states or slave states. In “Bloody Kansas”, zealous pro-slavery and anti-slavery forces fought each other, most notably John Brown, and the region became a breeding ground for individuals like Quantrill who shifted right back into similar fighting once the Civil War started. Rather than target military infrastructure or enemy soldiers, the bushwhackers rode in smaller numbers and targeted civilians on the other side of the conflict, making men like Bloody Bill Anderson and John Mosby notorious. However, none are remembered like Quantrill and his men, not only because of their deeds during the Civil War but because of the actions of some of the former Raiders after it. Quantrill is best known for raiding Lawrence, Kansas in August 1863 and slaughtering nearly 200 boys and men between the ages of 14 and 90 under the pretext that they were capable of holding a gun and thus helping the Union cause.

"A rousing adventure and heartwarming series opener." - Publishers WeeklyA rollicking, action-packed adventure of laser tag and fierce sibling rivalries, Team Chu and the Battle of Blackwood Arena is the first book in a commerical middle grade fantasy series by Julie C. Dao. "Dao is a bright voice in middle grade fiction, crafting characters and plot in a way that feels effortless...A fresh title that weaves elements of sports stories and sci-fi with realism and beautifully developed characters, in a way that makes this story irresistible." ―School Library Journal, STARRED REVIEWClip and Sadie Chu couldn’t be more different. Popular, athletic Clip wants to become his school’s first seventh-grade soccer captain, while brainy star student Sadie is determined to prove that she can do anything her boastful brother can. When the Blackwood Gaming Arena comes to town, bringing virtual reality headsets and state-of-the-art courses, they couldn’t be more excited—or competitive. Together, they must fight their way through epic battlegrounds that will test their speed, skills, and smarts . . . but will Clip and Sadie learn that they’re far better off working together than competing for the ultimate victory?

YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES & JOHN WATSON
The case of the stolen penny farthing bicycle.
This completely new story I have written involves the 10 year old boys who will be the great detective Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, his assistant, when they grow up, this is their formative years where they perfect their skills before adulthood on what my appear to be inconsequential subjects, but the principle remains the same.
This is just one of an extensive series I will be publishing as audio books in the very near future and I do hope you enjoy this first one, and its only 99 pence, all subsequent will remain at that price as I would not like price to be a barrier to your enjoyment.
I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, a violin Holme's musical instrument of choice and is energetic and the closing music ends the tale on a more restrained mode and only about 1 minute.
The story itself runs to about just over 5 minutes and is of course a short story, it is read in my own voice.
The story involves the theft of a penning farthing bicycle owned by the son, Leopold 12 years old of the Duke of Westminster, who live in Grosvenor Square London in the late 1900's. Needless to say Holmes solves the mystery with aplomb and goes onto his next case.
The stories are designed to be entertaining to children of approximately the same age around 10 years old due to the characters involved.
I do hope you and you children, if applicable, enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!

The second book in the Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place—the acclaimed and hilarious Victorian mystery series by Maryrose Wood, perfect for fans of Lemony Snicket and Trenton Lee Stewart—has a brand-new look.
Thanks to their plucky governess, Miss Penelope Lumley, Alexander, Beowulf, and Cassiopeia are much more like children than wolf cubs now. They are accustomed to wearing clothes. They hardly ever howl at the moon. And for the most part, they resist the urge to chase squirrels up trees.
Yet the Incorrigibles are not entirely civilized, and still managed to ruin Lady Constance's Christmas ball, nearly destroying the grand house. So while Ashton Place is being restored, Penelope, the Ashtons, and the children take up residence in London. As they explore the city, Penelope and the Incorrigibles discover more about themselves as clues about the children's—and Penelope's own—mysterious past crop up in the most unexpected ways....

Listen along and enjoy the fun! Feelings and farts are facts of life. We all have them! But among friends and family, they are usually no big deal.Striking a perfect balance of funny and factual, this charming audiobook encourages young readers to accept their emotions (and their farts) without shame, even when they really stink.A Macmillan Audio production from Henry Holt & Company.
