Sinossi

"Boy: A Sketch" unfolds as a poignant narrative, portraying the neglectful upbringing of 'Boy' by his careless parents. Despite the Muirs' indifference, the kindness of Miss Leslie and The Major shapes Boy's path. From Brittany to an English Military School, he grows indifferent and blase. Expelled from Sandhurst due to drunkenness, he spirals into debt and fraud. Remorseful, Boy enlists, redeems himself in the Boer War, sacrificing his life to save a childhood friend. Marie Corelli's novel is a powerful exploration of redemption, friendship, and the impact of upbringing on one's destiny.

It was written in July 1917 and is one of the first stories that Lovecraft wrote as an adult. It is considered by many to be one of Lovecraft's most forward-looking stories. As to the name of the story, Lovecraft seems to be referring to the ancient Sumerian god named Dagon who is the fertility god of grains and fish, because in the story, the main character makes inquiries "....regarding the ancient Philistine legend of Dagon, the Fish-God."
The story is the testament of a tortured, morphine-addicted man who relates an incident that occurred during his service as an officer during World War I. In the unnamed narrator's account, his cargo ship is captured by an Imperial German sea-raider in "one of the most open and least frequented parts of the broad Pacific".  He escapes on a lifeboat and drifts aimlessly, south of the equator, until he eventually finds himself stranded on "a slimy expanse of hellish black mire which extended about [him] in monotonous undulations as far as [he] could see.... The region was putrid with the carcasses of decaying fish and less describable things which [he] saw protruding from the nasty mud of the unending plain." He theorizes that this area was formerly a portion of the ocean floor thrown to the surface by volcanic activity, "exposing regions which for innumerable millions of years had lain hidden under unfathomable watery depths. He explores and finds horrible and grotesque creatures, including a god. A rip roaring good tale of horror and terror to listen to. But maybe not alone.

""Black Magic: A Tale of the Rise and Fall of the Antichrist" is a chilling early horror work by Marjorie Bowen, set in the Middle Ages. Within its pages, you'll encounter a bewitching blend of witches, spells, ghosts, pacts with the Devil, occult rituals, love triangles, popes, and the Anti-Christ. Some consider it the ultimate Gothic Novel. The novel weaves a dark tapestry of suspense and mystery, drawing readers into a world where forbidden knowledge and supernatural forces collide. As you delve into its 330 pages, you'll find yourself immersed in a realm where the boundaries between light and shadow blur, and ancient secrets threaten to consume all who dare to seek them."

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
A gravedigger in a certain village discovers a substance that gives the appearance of death to living beings. He intends to use it on his enemies, but in the end, he himself becomes a victim.
The horror in the cemetery is distinguished by a slightly gallows humor and the rustic slang of the characters. The story at times resembles the works of the master of macabre, Ambrose Bierce.
The last of the stories written by Lovecraft for Hazel Heald. Common to all of them is the motif of transformation and paralysis or incapacitation. Heald paid regularly, and H.P. Lovecraft didn't seem to complain about her, which cannot be said about other clients
