Sinossi

In "Chicken Little Jane on the Big John," Lily Munsell Ritchie delivers a vibrant narrative that melds whimsy with profound insight. This children'Äôs book intricately weaves a tale of courage and self-discovery through the charming character of Jane, who learns to navigate the challenges of fear and uncertainty, symbolized by her adventures on the titular Big John'Äîa metaphorical representation of life's big obstacles. Ritchie's lyrical prose, infused with rhythmic patterns, invites young readers to engage actively with the text while simultaneously exploring overarching themes of resilience and friendship in a contemporary literary context marked by a growing emphasis on emotional intelligence among youth. Ritchie, an author deeply invested in both literature and education, draws on her background in storytelling and her passion for nurturing young minds. "Chicken Little Jane on the Big John" not only reflects her commitment to capturing the complexities of childhood emotions but also empowers children to confront their fears with bravery, making it a fitting addition to modern children's literature. I highly recommend "Chicken Little Jane on the Big John" to parents, educators, and young readers alike. OUR FAIRY KINGDOM – ENGLAND 1885
Book 1 of 6 April Awakenings
This story is summarized as follows:
In 1885, siblings Mabel and Leopold Pembroke, aged 13 and 11, secretly explore the forbidden ancient woodland near their Surrey estate, Pembroke Manor. Mabel, scientifically minded, documents nature, while Leopold, a dreamer, sketches its beauty. One day, they discover a glowing fairy ring. Ignoring Mabel’s warnings, Leopold steps inside—and vanishes. Panicked, Mabel follows and is transported to Sylvandale, the Fairy Kingdom. Guided by the mischievous Puck, they meet Queen Titania and King Oberon, who reveal they were chosen to bridge the human and fairy worlds. Through lessons with fairy craftsmen and healers, they learn humility, respect for nature, and the value of all beings. When they return home, time has barely passed, but they’re profoundly changed. They begin challenging their family’s rigid Victorian norms, sharing Sylvandale’s wisdom subtly. Though doubted by siblings, they inspire the younger ones and plan to keep the magic alive, hoping to someday reconnect with the fairies.
This is the first of six audiobooks in the series and I do hope you enjoy it only $3.
The initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 3 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, male vocals, instruments are Harp,Flute,French Horn,Oboe,Organ, Genre is Operatic Orchestral and of course Classical and the mood is Passionate yet Serene. The closing music ends the tale on a gentle note and at just over 2 minutes, no vocals but the same musical instruments and genre but a more serene mood.
The story itself runs to about 1 hour and is narrated by Claire Francis, my wife.
I do hope you and your family are entertained by this audiobook and let me know what you think.

Too bad she didn’t feel the same way. . . Growing up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, was all fourteen-year-old Presley Walton knew. In fact, the teen had never ventured far beyond the city limits. Her world revolved around chilling in her bedroom, using her cell phone, and being on social media. Presley was getting ready to enjoy a typical summer, but her parents had other plans. Before she knew it, Presley was on a smelly, old bus heading to the middle of nowhere. Nowhere, otherwise known as Camp Golden Arrow, would be her home sweet home for two weeks. It was the same camp her mom had attended when she was a teen. Her mom’s stories of camp friendships, cabin contests, and outdoor fun already made Presley dread this forced adventure. Mia and Ann, identical twins, team up with Presley to make the fourteen days unforgettable. Epic prank wars, standing up to the camp bully, and fishing for Big Lou, a 100-pound blue catfish, make the camp experience one for the record books. Will the girls of D Cabin go down in the history books of Camp Golden Arrow. . . or will they become the next victims of the B Cabin boys?

Abigail Adams lived through the Revolutionary War and became the First Lady of the second president of the United States. Though women of her time could not vote, govern, or own property, Abigail believed that women should not be ruled by laws they did not make. Although she did not see these rights come to women, she never gave up talking, writing, and perhaps most important, believing that women were equal to men. Her courage and strength enabled her to help her husband create a new country. She never fired a gun, but her pen was a weapon that helped win freedom for her country--and herself.
