Sinossi

A Full House is a historical novel of farm life in Alberta, Canada, in the 1930s, 1940s and ’50’s. The book follows the historical novels: Book #1 The Gentle Gamblers, and book #2 The Tender Years. The MacIntosh Family moves into their homestead in the northern bushland after trials in a series of rented houses. Here, this pioneer family, along with friends and neighbours, rides out the Depression as one by one their children grow up, and we share their struggles, their joys and their triumphs. This story, the people, the incidents that happened, and the places are true and are taken from the memoirs of the people involved. That is why the author calls it "creative non-fiction," even though it is written as fiction.

London, 1782: center of science and commerce, home to the newly rich and the desperately poor. In the midst of it all is the Giant, O'Brien, a freak of nature, a man of song and story who trusts in myths, fairies, miracles, and little people. He has come from Ireland to exhibit his size for money. O'Brien's opposite is a man of science, the famed anatomist John Hunter, who lusts after the Giant's corpse as a medical curiosity, a boon to the advancement of scientific knowledge. In her acclaimed novel, two-time Man Booker Prize winning author Hilary Mantel tells of the fated convergence of Ireland and England. As belief wrestles knowledge and science wrestles song, so The Giant, O'Brien calls to us from a fork in the road as a tale of time, and a timeless tale.

"A fascinating glimpse into how Dick's uniquely warped perspective evolved." -Entertainment Weekly (Grade: A)

Humpty Dumpty in Oakland is a tragedy, a dark comedy, and vintage Philip K. Dick.

Al Miller is a self-proclaimed nobody, a used-car salesman with a lot full of junkers. His elderly landlord, Jim Fergessen, has decided to retire and has just cashed in on his property, which includes the lot that Al rents next to Fergessen's garage.

Chris Harman is a record-company owner who has relied on Fergessen's for years to fix his Cadillac. When he hears about Jim Fergessen's sudden retirement fund, he tells him about a new realty development that Harman swears is a surefire path to easy wealth. Fergessen sees his chance to finally be a real businessman, well-to-do and respected like Harman.

Al is convinced that Harman is a crook out to fleece Fergessen. Even if he doesn't particularly like Fergessen, Al is not going to stand by and watch him get cheated. Only Al's not very good at this, either. Maybe he's not even right.

"It would be a shame to miss this….We all know that easy money rarely is, but it's a lesson worth reading about again." -The Kansas City Star

"This paranoid and ambiguity-filled exploration into the psyche of the small businessman showcases not only Dick's wild imagination and sardonic wit but also, and most notably, his mastery at intertwining perception with reality." -Publishers Weekly

    America – 1862
The nation has been torn apart by a war of secession, but not all southerners are alike and fight for their own causes. That’s what Dustin Keith, a werewolf recently liberated from his mentor’s guardianship, saw in Ben Myers, a Georgia farm boy serving in the Confederate Army. Only in the army so he could escape north and then find a way abroad, Dustin never expected to take part in the single bloodiest day in American history. At Antietam, Ben is fatally wounded and Dustin sees that the only way to save this good soul is to turn him into what he is – a werewolf.
With a wife and infant son at home, Ben wants nothing more than to see the end of this terrible war and go home to his own state. But now, freshly turned into a supernatural creature with unbelievable abilities, the long journey home from Virginia has become that much more difficult. If the enemy army, a strict mentor, and sheer distance wasn’t enough, there’s something off about Ben’s condition that will make it nearly impossible for him to enter society ever again.
