Sinossi

In this poignant tapestry of life, the reader is ushered into a realm that bridges the earthly and the ethereal, where the heart's fragments are scattered by pride and reconciled by boundless love. We traverse the journey of souls from the depths of despair to the heights of redemption, their narratives woven with the wisdom of Kabbalistic mysticism and the enduring spirit of Zionism.Through trials of war and personal hardship, the characters emerge as fractured vessels, seeking wholeness in a land steeped in historical promise and spiritual longing. This is a chronicle of resilience, marking the path from isolation to unity, where the echoes of ancestral bonds call forth a collective heartbeat.Embracing the adage of a revered sage—"There is nothing so whole as the broken heart"—this work illuminates the paradoxical truth that, in our vulnerability and surrender, we discover the inclusive embrace where healing begins and the fragmented self is made complete.Amidst these pages, the call of destiny resounds, inviting the weary traveler to a dance of rejuvenation, where the rains of forgiveness yield a harvest of hope, and the silence of loss gives way to the symphony of everlasting love.

The life story of Jesus of Nazareth, considered by billions of Christians to be the Messiah prophesized in the Old Testament of the Bible, is perhaps the most famous in history. Described in detail in the New Testament, Jesus comes from both divine yet humble roots, born in a manger to a young woman, but in time he leads a fervent following as tales of his miracles spread across the Holy Land. The crucifixion and resurrection that follow create the climactic resolution of Jesus’ life story and cement his status as the Christ, at least in the eyes of the burgeoning religious movement that would sweep across the region in the coming decades. An anonymous writer would compose the first gospel, Mark, and the major theme would be the way of Jesus to his death. His followers, whose movement would originally be called "the way,” would also bring about a new religion that has lasted 20 centuries, and while it is focused on the figure of Jesus, the rural man of Israel who started it all, the historical Jesus was gradually enshrined under layers of sermons, chants, legends and philosophies that would be alien to Jews in Jesus’s day. Like ideological strata, they covered the historical facts, obscuring the Jesus of history under the Christ of faith.
It goes without saying that Judas is an interesting character in the development of the salvation history. His person, his act of betrayal and even his replacement were predicted by the Old Testament prophets, which some Biblical scholars take as evidence that Judas was doomed from the beginning to be the betrayer and had no choice. But by taking a closer look at the history, the reader will see several points along the way, even up to the moment of the final kiss, in which Jesus gave Judas the opportunity to repent. God’s plan was going to be fulfilled, and God was going to use an individual to bring about the betrayal of Jesus,

    Lo Carmen

A beautiful and moving memoir about passion, creativity and fearlessness from one of Australia's true creatives, singer/songwriter Lo Carmen, inspired by the lives and careers of other remarkable Australian women - such as Renee Geyer, Chrissy Amphlett, Robyn Archer and Wendy Saddington.

'If you don't know Lo, you don't know sh*t. This is the best music book of the year, a dream-like celebration of women and song. A triumph.' Noah Taylor
'We've all got them, the lighters of the way, those mythological wonders who glow in our dark. These are the ones I got to be close to, whether in a real or allusive sense; these are the ones that got to me in a way that still flows through my veins. I think you'll understand why soon...'
Lo Carmen was discovered at sixteen working in a Kings Cross pizza bar and cast as in the seminal Australian film The Year My Voice Broke, for which she was nominated for an AFI award. But even before that, Lo has lived a bigger life than most. From being backstage at Rolling Stones concerts when she was a baby to writing her first song at eight; performing an original song onstage at nine; having a baby while barely out of her teens; forming her first band at twenty one; touring Europe without a manager, funds or a safety net; and all the while making music her life and her art. In all this, Lo has been inspired by a handful of women - all icons, one way or another, of modern Australian life.
Lo Carmen weaves her own remarkable story as a critically acclaimed singer/songwriter together with compelling portraits of the women who have influenced her life and career: bold creative visionaries, trailblazers, provocateurs, pioneers, feminists and activists such as Renee Geyer, Chrissy Amphlett, Robyn Archer and Sallie-Anne Huckstepp, exploring the often complex lives of these fascinating women as a way of understanding her own life and choices.
A tender, joyous, messy, vibrant and wholly inspiring investigation of creativity, passion, purpose, art and music.
'A hard won account of the mess, glory and risk of making art. Lo tells her story by telling the stories of all those who've lit and tended her flame. She knows that worship is at the heart of creation. And she writes like a river.' Paul Kelly
'Loene has always been unique. Lovers Dreamers Fighters is beautifully written.' Don Walker
'There is an electricity and trueness to Loene's voice you can't fake. It involves her passion for art and music, but also a love for outsiders who have something special to give. Her intense humanity and feel for unexpected intimate detail goes to your core.' Mark Mordue, Boy on Fire
'A little bit country, a little bit rock n roll, Loene Carmen's writing is vivid, sassy and intimate. From the studios of Nashville to the grimy bars of the Cross, Lovers Dreamers Fighters is a memoir about the power of song, family and spiritual connection, but most of all a love letter to the soul-sisters who have shaped Lo's creative spirit, and Australia's cultural history, through the generations.' In a world increasingly shaped by fear, division, and rising authoritarianism, Finding My Humanity is a timely memoir that invites us back to what connects us most—our mutual capacity for love, empathy, and courage- indeed our shared humanity. Ryan Ubuntu Olson's journey begins in rural Colorado, where he wrestles with his identity in a community that offers little space for difference. As a queer young man navigating isolation, discrimination, and heartbreak, he is forced to reckon with what it means to live authentically in the face of rejection. But what begins as a personal struggle evolves into something far greater. On a conservative Catholic college campus, Ryan Ubuntu unexpectedly becomes a public advocate, confronting bias and building community. That role propels him into global human rights work, where he supports activists and inclusive development efforts in countries like Kenya, Jamaica, Peru, Malawi, and Cambodia. From the grassroots to the halls of the United Nations, Ryan Ubuntu becomes a bridge between lived experience and global policy, shaping strategies for inclusion and dignity worldwide. More than a memoir, Finding My Humanity is a reflection on what it means to turn pain into purpose—and how one person’s story can spark collective action. With raw honesty and unwavering hope, Ryan Ubuntu explores how our personal "why" can become a driving "how" in the fight for justice, connection, and change. Narrated by the author himself, the audiobook seeks to add deeper meaning to the memoir by adding the human depth and conviction that can only be expressed in the tone and intonation of the person most impacted by the memoir's greatest meaning. Whether you're seeking purpose, healing, or inspiration, this is a book for anyone ready to lead with heart in a world hungry for hope.
