Sinossi

"This book is a gift to all parents trying to navigate the complexity of raising children in today's world. ... I wish I could make this book required reading for every parent." - Christine Caine, founder of A21 and Propel Women
How can you raise your children to not just to survive but to thrive in a world filled with complex and confusing conversations about gender, sexuality, and relationships?
Navigating the birds and bees is challenging enough for parents. Kids today are faced with all sorts of complex issues, and often at a very early age. When is it too early to talk about sex? How can we begin to view the gender conversation? How do we help our kids not to approach the world fearfully but to walk into it confidently--even in the world's most controversial spaces?
Laurie and Matt Krieg believe that, as a Christian parent, you can approach sexual topics with confidence and grace by laying a solid gospel-centered foundation from early childhood onward. Raising Wise Kids in a Sexually Broken World offers you theological guidance, parenting principles, and age-appropriate insights for addressing complex issues in healthy ways: issues like marriage and singleness, God's design for sex, same-sex attraction and sexual orientation, gender identity, sexual abuse, and pornography.
In Raising Wise Kids in a Sexually Broken World, you'll learn to:

- Present God's purpose for both marriage and singleness
- Explain God's design for sex with clarity
- Discuss gender identity from a biblical perspective
- Protect your children from sexual abuse
- Prevent porn addiction
- Promote online safeguards

Raising Wise Kids in a Sexually Broken World is a timely and essential resource for today's Christian parents. Rather than retreating in fear, you can respond to the brokenness of the world with the goodness, truth, and beauty of the gospel and help your kids to do the same. Cast a gospel vision for your kids so that no matter how they experience sexual brokenness within them or around them, they have the tools they need to choose the way of Jesus no matter what.

The title of the book immediately captured my attention. I was eager to see what "His Perfection of Beauty" was all about. It is foremost a work designed to reach the multitude of women who suffer the consequences of not fully knowing their value and insurmountable worth in the Kingdom of God. However, some of the sage counsel and gold nuggets provided throughout the book are applicable to us all. Right from the start it is apparent that the author speaks from a place familiar to us all. It is a place of pain and brokenness, but not of futility. She offers hope, as prescribed by God to all who will listen. Crystal has provided a peek inside her mind if not her soul, as she writes with a transcendent passion revealing her innermost desire for the women of God to come and be made whole. Upon completing her project Crystal was diagnosed with cancer she went home soon thereafter, but even while ill she poured her heart and soul into this project. I highly recommend this book as it is a path to healing and ultimately a road to God. REV. MOISES FLORES Crystal Flores was a wife, mother, and minister of the Gospel. She spent 25 years of her life ministering to the brokenhearted, tirelessly exhorting, uplifting, and challenging those God had placed in her path to partake in the relational healing found in Jesus. This is her first and only book, as shortly upon completion she was called home to her eternal resting place. She is survived by her husband Moises and her two children Elizabeth and Moises.

The book of Judges contains some of the most famous of the Bible's stories, as well as some of the least known. They show us the deepest sins of humanity but reveal them in the light of God's abundant grace. Behind human leaders such as Deborah, Jephthah, and Samson stands the principal actor in this drama: God as Judge, discerning and deciding.Michael Wilcock astutely explores the message of Judges to show that God never abandons his people—then or now. In this Bible Speaks Today commentary, Wilcock illuminates the meaning that Judges still holds for us today as a story of God's grace. The Judge of all ensures that his people will never manage to destroy themselves, even though it may look as if they are on course for disaster.Part of the loved and trusted Bible Speaks Today series, The Message of Judges offers an insightful, readable exposition of the biblical text and thought-provoking discussion of how it relates to contemporary life. Used by Bible students and teachers around the world, The Bible Speaks Today commentaries are ideal for anyone studying or preaching Scripture and those who want to delve deeper into the text. This beautifully redesigned edition has also been sensitively updated to include modern references and use the NRSV Bible text.

"The new man will be a mystic, a poet, a scientist, all together. He will not look at life through old rotten divisions. He will be a mystic, because he will feel the presence of god. He will be a poet, because he will celebrate the presence of god. And he will be a scientist, because he will search into this presence through scientific methodology. When a man is all these three together, the man is whole."

Osho, or Bhagwan has been described by the Sunday Times in London as one of the "1000 Makers of the 20th Century". American author Tom Robbins says he is "the most dangerous man since Jesus Christ", while the Sunday Mid-Day has selected Osho as one of ten people along with Gandhi, Nehru and Buddha who have changed the destiny of India. How can one human be dangerous and at the same time change-making? And if he is, then what could possibly be the impact of his presence?

    Creative Evolution

    Henri Bergson

Henri Bergson’s highly influential book, ‘Creative Evolution’ (‘Evolution Creatrice’, 1907) established a theory of evolution - called ‘Creative Evolution Theory’ - which gained a considerable following in the first half of the 20th Century. It also helped the author to win the Nobel Prize in 1927 for his work investigating the origins of biological information and divergence in the evolutionary process.

In this work, Bergson seeks an alternative explanation as to how new forms of life emerge compared to those prevailing at the time. This included both the ‘mechanistic’ or deterministic explanations of biological science on the one hand, and on the other the ‘finalist’ or strictly teleological explanation of those who believed in the hand of a ‘Creator’ or God, coordinating life in a divine plan.

Creative Evolution proposes a third explanation in what Bergson calls élan vital’ or ‘vital impetus’, a force that infuses all matter and drives it forward into an ever-changing and infinite variety of living forms. This appears as a vital impetus that can also be related to humanity’s own creative life force. Bergson’s book builds on his ‘Theory of Time’ as set forth in works such as ‘Matter and Memory’ and ‘Time and Free Will’. In these works, and in the present volume, Bergson sees continuous ‘duration’ as real time, as opposed to the way in which time is divided up into measured units by the ‘organising’ mind of science.

Life, as we really experience it, is subject to constant change and our tendency to explain evolutionary change by looking only at ‘ends’ achieved rather than the processes by which they emerge, divorces us from the life force itself.

Instead, Bergson feels we need to reengage with our instincts as well as with our intelligence in order to understand the evolutionary process, as both co-exist to some extent within us, all forms of life having a common origin in that instinctual, innate knowledge of simpler life forms. Though these may be unconscious or semi-conscious, they are, in Bergson’s view, much more in touch with the ever-changing nature of real time than the analytical and rational knowledge of our species

As he writes: “Our thought, in its purely logical form, is incapable of presenting the true nature of life, the full meaning of the evolutionary movement. Created by life, in definite circumstances, to act on definite things, how can it embrace life, of which it is only an emanation or an aspect?”

It is to attempt an answer to this question that ‘Creative Evolution’ directs its attention.
