Sinossi

Dancing with words is a collection of poems that will light a flame in your Soul, to live well and thrive.

INTRODUCTION

Never dwell too much on what was or live so far in the future of what is to come. You will miss the only moment we have, which is “NOW”. Now becomes yesterday. In the same breathe, “now” is the future you have been waiting for. Stay present.

“Wisdom has built my house & understanding has graced my expansion”

PREFACE

As I write these poems, I am flowing in the river of purposeful creativity. Words unfolding onto the pages, with randomness yet harbouring perfection. Rhyming with a beat that pulls on the heartstrings.

Releasing a gong so loud that the walls built around the heart fall to the ground, leaving access for light to shine through and pure transformation to take hold.

Purpose, is an evolving experience. It reveals its self, one layer at a time. Exposing your next steps and your upcoming experience of growth.

Following the promptings of your heart or your gut feeling or your instinct is key. These promptings are leading you to your destined path.

Amid the storied halls of the Royal Cambridge Scholastic Institute, Professor Erasmus Cromwell-Smith—beloved pedagogue, poet, and relentless seeker of truth—finds himself on the brink of a new academic year. Surrounded by antiquarian volumes and the warm presence of Victoria Emerson-Lloyd, the love of his life, he prepares to illuminate the minds of his students with one of life’s most daunting themes: adversity. From the hush of a predawn study to the bustling energy of a packed university auditorium, Erasmus invites his class on a journey of discovery, introspection, and hope.
But adversity is not merely an academic subject—it touches every facet of Erasmus’s own life. Through poignant narrations, tender memories, and stirring poetry, Magic In Life—The Equilibrist Series Vol. III unravels a tapestry of trials and triumphs. As Erasmus recounts the struggles that tested his spirit, readers encounter the raw, universal truths of hardship and renewal. In reflective conversations with Victoria—whose gentle presence radiates unconditional love—we witness how true courage emerges in the face of fear and longing.
Infused with lyrical verses, deep philosophical insights, and a dash of old-world charm, Magic In Life—The Equilibrist Series Vol. III is a testament to the power of narrative and poetry to transform pain into wisdom, fracture into resilience, and separation into reunion. Whether it is the hush of a centuries-old library or the vibrant exchange in a rapt lecture hall, Professor Cromwell-Smith’s enduring lessons remind us that from the moment adversity strikes to the dawn of new beginnings, life continuously offers us the chance to learn, to heal, and ultimately—if we listen with open hearts—to flourish.

    "Quoth the Raven, 'Nevermore.'"

On a "bleak December" midnight, a weary student seeks refuge from his sorrow in ancient books, only to be interrupted by a mysterious tapping at his chamber door. What follows is a dark, psychological tug-of-war between a man paralyzed by the loss of his beloved Lenore and a "stately Raven" that perches atop a bust of Pallas. Through hypnotic rhythm and internal rhyme, Poe captures the precise moment when melancholy turns into incurable despair. The bird's singular, repetitive refrain becomes a mirror for the narrator's own self-torture, transforming a simple midnight visit into a timeless symbol of the human struggle with the finality of death.

Poe famously wrote an essay, "The Philosophy of Composition," detailing how he meticulously crafted this poem to achieve a "unity of effect." Every element, from the choice of the raven as a "bird of ill omen" to the trochaic octameter of the verses, was designed to build a crescendo of dread.

The Raven perches upon the bust of Pallas Athena (the goddess of wisdom), symbolizing the triumph of irrational grief over reason. By the poem's end, the narrator's soul is trapped within the shadow of the bird, signifying that for some types of grief, there is no escape and no "balm in Gilead."

The Raven made Poe a household name almost overnight. Its musicality makes it one of the most effective pieces for oral recitation, while its psychological depth continues to fascinate scholars and horror fans alike. It is the definitive expression of the "Dark Romantic" movement—a beautiful, terrifying look at a heart that refuses to heal.
