Sinossi

Did you know that although all zebras have black and white stripes each zebra is unique? Or, that lions are part of the cat family but they cannot purr? Learn interesting facts about wild animals in this book featuring real photographs! Studies show that young learners find it easier to associate real-life animals to photographs than to illustrations. Animals and reptiles in this book include the zebra, lion, giraffe, rhinoceros, gorilla, elephant, hippopotamus, ostrich, crocodile, and cheetah with fun facts about each. Then, play a fun game and identify the wild animal by looking at its coat or skin. This is the perfect book for an aspiring zoologist! Other books in the Read & Learn series include: Alphabet, Counting, and Farm Animals.

Slow Down, Busy Bee is a series of short stories about mindfulness by writer, Trevor James. Utilizing a centering technique sometimes referred to as 5-4-3-2-1 (which engages the 5 senses as a way to connect with the present moment), Slow Down, Busy Bee introduces the concept of mindfulness in an accessible, fun, and engaging way. The story also introduces the always-buzzing Busy Bee, his home in a pristine wildflower meadow, and the meadow’s wise old bee - who serves as Busy Bee’s mindful mentor. Walking with Ghosts is a courageous examination of the painful and formative experiences of how Gabriel Byrne became who he is today. With poetic sensibility he recalls the people, landscapes and culture that have influenced his life and work. Defiantly original, this is both a candid exploration of the ambivalence of fame, and a lyrical often heartbreaking account of boyhood in an Ireland now largely disappeared.

The Most Sentimental Man by Evelyn E. Smith - Johnson knew he was annoying the younger man, who so obviously lived by the regulations in the Colonial Officer's Manual and lacked the imagination to understand why he was doing this.... Evelyn E. Smith is famous for her bitter-sweet stories of the worlds of Tomorrow.
Johnson went to see the others off at Idlewild. He knew they'd expect him to and, since it would be the last conventional gesture he'd have to make, he might as well conform to their notions of what was right and proper.
For the past few centuries the climate had been getting hotter; now, even though it was not yet June, the day was uncomfortably warm. The sun's rays glinting off the bright metal flanks of the ship dazzled his eyes, and perspiration made his shirt stick to his shoulder blades beneath the jacket that the formality of the occasion had required. He wished Clifford would hurry up and get the leave-taking over with.
But, even though Clifford was undoubtedly even more anxious than he to finish with all this ceremony and take off, he wasn't the kind of man to let inclination influence his actions. "Sure you won't change your mind and come with us?"
    Johnson shook his head.
The young man looked at him—hatred for the older man's complication of what should have been a simple departure showing through the pellicule of politeness. He was young for, since this trip had only slight historical importance and none of any other kind, the authorities had felt a junior officer entirely sufficient. It was clear, however, that Clifford attributed his commandership to his merits, and he was very conscious of his great responsibility.
"We have plenty of room on the ship," he persisted. "There weren't many left to go. We could take you easily enough, you know."

Dear Diary...All I wanted to do was buy a new book, read, and relax. But when Bess, George, and I visited the local bookstore in Avondale, we found it in flames, and before we knew it, we were in the middle of another mystery. Or was it the middle of one of the best-selling author Lacey O'Brien's books? I know it sounds really strange, but it seemed like mysteries in her books were coming alive: first, the fire; next, a sinking boat; and then, a missing statue. Were these innocent coincidences or chilling crimes?
