In a world where humans have just made contact with advanced Martians, a stunning cosmic television broadcast promises to change Earth forever. As the "Big Show" reveals the Martians' utopian society, it challenges Earthlings' ideas about everything from technology to morality. It was a 400 pound slobbering, disgusting blob with tiny piggy eyes that peered dimly out at the world, perpetually looking for a place to lie down and sleep- but maybe it was good to eat? The crew of the spaceship had never seen anything like it before but they were desperate for anything to eat on their return trip. Everything else they had rounded up was on the scrawny side but at least they looked like something a civilized person might eat. But THIS, this "wub' as the natives called it was disgusting. Oh well why not bring it along maybe things would not get so desperate on the long trip back to earth. At least, let's hope so the captain through to himself.

Beyond the glorious exploration of the wondrous outdoors and meeting new peoples, life seemed to keep hunting Gift's very soul, trying its best to rob her of freewill and choice.
The arrival of the U.R.M. was shocking. That they had come to establish a New World Order forced upon colony inhabitants created a knot in the stomachs of Gift, her friends, and former enemies. Questions manifest as fear in anyone not content to lie down and allow it.
Who were these U.R.M. people after two centuries? What is their version of world domination under the guise of peaceful integration? Why is Aimée speaking for them?
    Gift needs those answers.

How will she convince Benjamin Franklin to mind his business and help prevent the march by not providing equipment?
Can her relationship with Henry keep her in 1755 or will she find her way back to the 21st century?
