Contact with the organic spaceship is successful. Paurusheya picks up Alethea in the Omega Centauri star cluster. Alethea still thinks that she will find Sigurd again in the Earth system of the year 2269. Almost a year has passed since the two of them crashed through the black hole. She is even more disappointed when Sigurd is not there. Sigurd lies in a coma in 2019, while Alethea searches for him in 2269.
