Are you ready to uncover a place that should have remained buried beneath the sea? “The Shadow over Innsmouth” is more than a classic horror tale - it’s a gripping descent into paranoia, forbidden knowledge, and a terror that crawls out of the ocean and into your mind. When a curious traveler visits the crumbling seaside town of Innsmouth, he is met with distorted faces, hostile glances, and warnings spoken in fearful whispers. As night falls, unease turns to dread, and the town’s unspeakable secret begins to surface. With every passing moment, the tension tightens, the streets grow darker, and escape feels increasingly impossible. This audiobook draws you deep into the Cthulhu Mythos, where ancient beings stir beneath the waves and humanity’s place in the universe is horrifyingly small. By the time the final words fade, you won’t just know the truth about Innsmouth - you’ll feel its terror pulsing in your blood. Press play, if you dare, and let the nightmare begin!

Six has always been a number we group things around – Six of the best, six of one half a dozen of another, six feet under, six pack, six degrees of separation and a sixth sense are but a few of the ways we use this number.

Such is its popularity that we thought it is also a very good way of challenging and investigating an author’s work to give width, brevity, humour and depth across six of their very best.

In this series we gather together authors whose short stories both rivet the attention and inspire the imagination to visit their gems in a series of six, to roam across an author’s legacy in a few short hours and gain a greater understanding of their writing and, of course, to be lavishly entertained by their ideas, their narrative and their way with words.

These stories can be surprising and sometimes at a tangent to what we expected, but each is fully formed and a marvellous adventure into the world and words of a literary master.

Don Quixote is a Spanish novel by Miguel de Cervantes. It was originally published in two parts, in 1605 and 1615. A founding work of Western literature, it is often labeled as the first modern novel and is considered one of the greatest works ever written Don Quixote also holds the distinction of being one of the most-translated books in the world.

The plot revolves around the adventures of a noble from La Mancha named Alonso Quixano, who reads so many chivalric romances that he loses his mind and decides to become a knight-errant (caballero andante) to revive chivalry and serve his nation, under the name Don Quixote de la Mancha. He recruits a simple farmer, Sancho Panza, as his squire, who often employs a unique, earthy wit in dealing with Don Quixote's rhetorical monologues on knighthood, already considered old-fashioned at the time. Don Quixote, in the first part of the book, does not see the world for what it is and prefers to imagine that he is living out a knightly story.
