The story of Joseph is prominent in the book of Genesis and yet is rarely mentioned in the rest of Scripture. How then do we understand Joseph's significance in redemptive history? When Christians have addressed this question, the conversation has frequently turned toward typology: Is Joseph a type of the Messiah? Messianic interpretations of the Joseph narrative have often lacked methodological rigor or have simply failed to make a convincing case. Most often interpreters have simply noted historical correspondences between Joseph and Jesus, without considering the narrative's function in the context of Genesis, its redemptive-historical significance, or its appropriation by later biblical authors. In this New Studies in Biblical Theology volume, Samuel Emadi offers a more comprehensive canonical treatment of the Joseph narrative. He considers Genesis 37–50 in its own literary and theological context, intra-canonical development of the Joseph story via inner-biblical allusion, and New Testament references and allusions. Emadi defends the notion that Joseph functions as the resolution to the plot of Genesis and that this story typologically influences how later biblical authors narrate redemptive history, culminating in the New Testament's portrayal of Jesus as an antitypical, new and final Joseph. Addressing key issues in biblical theology, the works comprising New Studies in Biblical Theology are creative attempts to help Christians better understand their Bibles. The NSBT series is edited by D. A. Carson, aiming to simultaneously instruct and to edify, to interact with current scholarship and to point the way ahead.Mostra libro

SOLA Network's Asian American Book Awards Honorable Mention Greatness is overrated. People tend to measure success by worldly standards. We assume that greatness comes from charisma, influence, and followers. But God cares more about our character than about what people around us think of our reputations. Pastor Jae Hoon Lee challenges us not to pursue greatness but to grow in goodness. Jesus called his followers to cultivate character of goodness, not to aspire to positions of power. The faithful Christian life is one that seeks to become good. These reflections and meditations on the good Christian life unpack what it means for the church to live in obedience and faith, to strip away ambitious self-glorification, and to instead live humble lives of goodness and love.Mostra libro
In this book we are looking at the sacrifice of the Lord, how to offer acceptable one that God will honour in order to bring favour and blessing upon his people. It is quite pathetic that many people are carrying out many sacrifices to the Lord and some are not being honoured or accepted by God. It is desirable that all sacrifices are desirable to God. He can use it in return to bless them. It takes the covenant sons and daughters of God who are Born again and are matured to handle sacrifices. It is not meant for children because they don't know the value. Everybody wants the best out of life but few knows what to do in order to get there.Mostra libro
Purity is not just about avoiding sin; it is about living a life that is fully devoted to God in thought, word, and action. The call to purity is woven throughout Scripture, reminding believers that holiness is not optional—it is a command. God desires His people to be set apart, to reflect His nature in a world that constantly pulls them toward compromise. Purity is not about perfection but about a heart that continually seeks righteousness and turns away from what is impure. Understanding holiness is the first step in embracing purity. Holiness means being separated for God’s purpose, living in a way that honors Him. The Bible calls believers to “be holy, for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16). This is not a suggestion but an expectation. When someone chooses to follow Christ, they commit to a transformed life—one that is no longer conformed to the world’s standards but renewed by God’s truth. Why purity matters goes beyond personal righteousness. A pure heart draws closer to God, experiences His presence more deeply, and avoids the painful consequences of sin. Impurity, whether in thoughts, words, or actions, creates distance from God and weakens one’s spiritual strength. Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). A heart that remains clean before the Lord is one that enjoys a deeper relationship with Him, free from the guilt and shame that impurity brings.Mostra libro
