Sinopse

Emma, by Jane Austen, is a novel about youthful hubris and the perils of misconstrued romance. As in her other novels, Austen explores the concerns and difficulties of genteel women living in Georgian-Regency England; she also creates a lively comedy of manners among her characters. Before she began the novel, Austen wrote, "I am going to take a heroine whom no one but myself will much like." In the very first sentence she introduces the title character as "Emma Woodhouse, handsome, clever, and rich." Emma, however, is also rather spoiled, headstrong, and self-satisfied; she greatly overestimates her own matchmaking abilities; she is blind to the dangers of meddling in other people's lives; and her imagination and perceptions often lead her astray.

Emma Woodhouse, aged 20 at the start of the novel, is a young, beautiful, witty, and privileged woman in Regency England. She lives on the fictional estate of Hartfield in Surrey in the village of Highbury with her elderly widowed father, a valetudinarian who is excessively concerned for the health and safety of his loved ones. Emma's friend and only critic is the gentlemanly George Knightley, her neighbor from the adjacent estate of Donwell, and the brother of her elder sister Isabella's husband, John. As the novel opens, Emma has just attended the wedding of Miss Taylor, her best friend and former governess. Having introduced Miss Taylor to her future husband, Mr. Weston, Emma takes credit for their marriage, and decides that she rather likes matchmaking.

There’s a thin line between love and hate.
Kyra Kado hates Van Hernandez. Or at least she wishes she could. Ever since she kissed him and he rejected her as a “mistake”, things have been tense onboard their tour bus. Kyra takes out her aggression during her drumming performances as a member of Kason Cox’s band and tries not to think about how well Van guards her body between their shows.
Until she meets Ollie Dawes, who’s the perfect distraction. Funny, flirty, and cute AF, he takes her mind off Van. The Hot Rides salvage man is used to being alone on his solo part-finding missions, but she suspects he’d rather not be lonely anymore. She can relate. So she invites him to come see a show.
When Van discovers Kyra and Ollie performing an illicit encore together, he goes berserk. Distancing herself from Van might keep Kyra’s heart safe, but what about her body? A string of unsettling incidents make Kyra afraid one of her admirers has crossed the line from fan to fanatic.
With Ollie and Van teamed up to protect Kyra, she isn’t sure she’ll survive being torn between the two men she craves. She might have to sacrifice her friendships with them to stay sane, unless she can think of a way to keep them both in her life or in her bed.

One of E.M. Forster's most beloved and critically-acclaimed works, "A Room With a View" follows the journeys - both abroad and romantically - of young Lucy Honeychurch, a British girl during the Edwardian era with a distinctly independent nature. On a trip to Italy, with her chaperone in tow, Lucy encounters a Mr. Emerson and his son George. Both men are free-thinkers, unbound by the strictures of the day, and as they continue to run into each other on the trip, Lucy starts to become secretly enamored of George. After witnessing a murder in Florence (from which chaotic scene George rescues her), Lucy accidentally stumbles upon him again in a field where - overcome by both her beauty and the romantic setting - George kisses Lucy...and the couple parts. Once again home, Lucy becomes engaged to the snobbish and rather pretentious Cecil...and then learns that the Emersons have moved to the local village. This sets the scene for the question: Will Lucy will bow to convention and marry the society-approved Cecil....or break the engagement and run away with George? A classic of early 20th century literature, "A Room With a View" has been adapted numerous times for the stage and screen, most notably for the 1985 Oscar-winning Merchant Ivory film starring Helena Bonham Carter as Lucy, Maggie Smith as Charlotte and Julian Sands as George. It is presented here in its original and unabridged format.
