Sinossi

Emma is one of the famous novels by Jane Austen and was first published in 1816.

Unlike most of the other female protagonists in Austen´s novels the heroine Emma Woodhouse shows no real romantic interest in men. Instead of getting involved into a relationship herself she prefers meddling in other people´s lives. She is absolutely self-satisfied, although the conclusions of her imagination and perceptions often lead her astray. But finally, it comes to her self-revelation concerning her own true affections.

“I am going to take a heroine whom no one but myself will much like.” (Jane Austen)

Emma is one of the best-loved and essential classics in English literature. Like Austen´s other novels it retains a fascination for modern readers, and has been adapted for several films as well as for a long list of dramatic plays. Some critics place this novel even higher than Austen´s masterpiece Pride and Prejudice.

    Lovecraft Short Stories

H.P. Lovecraft, also known as Howard Phillips Lovecraft, was an American writer who excelled in horror, fantasy, poetry, and science fiction, particularly in the subgenre of weird fiction. He is widely considered as the leading authority on frightening, eerie, and unsettling stories. This list features seven tales by Lovecraft, showcasing his writing prowess across his entire career - from works written when he was a young teenager to others that were only published posthumously. These stories are unique in their own way, but all stem from the same imaginative mind that gave us the "Cult of Cthulhu" and other memorable, strange works that have captivated generations with their ability to tap into our innermost fears. Some of these tales delve into the depths of the human psyche, while others delve into the depths of human depravity and terror.

This rich and charming novel about a virtuous young woman's search for love amidst the fickle world of country gentry in Regency England is one of Jane Austen' s most memorable works. Anne Elliot exists in a world where shallowness and hypocrisy present a challenge to her centered values and tender emotions. Anne vies for the affections of the man she loves while at the same time her willpower is threatened as she battles the conventions of a proper parochial society.
