Sinossi

Executed? Isn't that an exaggeration? She's still breathing, isn't she?

The term is borrowed from Per Lindeberg, who wrote the definitive book on the infamous dismemberment murder case. He speaks of a "social execution." Birgitte Bonnesen, former CEO of Swedbank, has been socially executed. She was fired, her contract with the bank was terminated by Göran Persson without any stated reason. She has been publicly shamed in the press for months and years. First acquitted, then convicted of gross fraud.

In the dismemberment case, at least there was a crime to be innocent of. Here, there is nothing—except journalists who get everything wrong, legal authorities eagerly acting as the mob's enforcers, and a court that fails to understand the very evidence it relies on to convict.

Yes, executed. This is a horror story.

Jan Söderqvist is an author, writer, editor, and lecturer. Together with Alexander Bard, he has co-authored six books, including The Netocrats and the latest Process and Event, which have been translated into more than 20 languages. He is also the author of IceBorg, the unauthorized biography of Björn Borg, now being published in English.

In the shadowed outskirts of Helsinki lies Tattarisuo, a desolate marsh once feared for more than its fog and isolation. In the early 20th century, whispers of grave desecration, occult rituals, and a secretive circle of believers sent shockwaves through Finland. What began as rumor soon unraveled into one of the country’s most disturbing criminal cases.
True Crime: The Tattarisuo Witch Circle takes listeners deep into a chilling investigation where superstition collides with reality. Through carefully reconstructed events, witness accounts, and historical records, this audiobook explores how a fringe group’s obsession with mysticism spiraled into acts that horrified an entire nation.
Was it blind faith, manipulation, or something darker that drove ordinary people to such extremes? And how did fear and folklore shape the public’s understanding of the case?
Atmospheric, gripping, and unsettling, this true crime narrative pulls back the veil on a forgotten chapter of Finnish history, one where the line between belief and brutality disappeared into the mist.
As the investigation unfolds, authorities struggle to separate myth from motive, uncovering a web of psychological influence, desperation, and belief systems pushed to their limits. The case not only exposed shocking crimes, but also ignited a nationwide debate about the power of suggestion, fringe spirituality, and the vulnerability of the human mind.
Set against the eerie stillness of Tattarisuo and the growing unease of Helsinki, this audiobook immerses listeners in a haunting atmosphere where every revelation deepens the mystery.
Perfect for fans of Nordic true crime, this story lingers long after the final chapter, raising questions about belief, control, and how far people will go when they think they are acting under a higher purpose.

June 20, 1991. A five-man hit team waited in a car outside the Long Island home of Victor Orena, the acting crime boss of the Colombo crime family. Orena recognized the vehicle—and managed to escape with his life. Over the next year, more shots would be fired in what would become the last major mob war in New York's crime-soaked history—and one of the bloodiest. The war ended with Orena's 1992 arrest and conviction for racketeering.

With shocking new revelations from Orena's son Andrew, this eye-opening account takes listeners inside the criminal underworld of New York's infamous "Five Families" from the point of view of one of its rising stars. The grandson of Sicilian immigrants, Victor Orena ingratiated himself with the local Mafiosi during his teens. Ascending the ranks, he eventually became acting boss of the family when its don Carmine "The Snake" Persico was sentenced to prison. But as Persico struggled to maintain control from behind bars, Orena decided to seize that power for himself—launching a ruthless mob war the city would never forget.

Featuring a rogues gallery of legendary mobsters—from the Gallo brothers to the Gambinos and John Gotti—this riveting account sheds new light on one of the most fascinating chapters in American crime.

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. A crowded international airport. Two young women. One deadly mission. And a man who never saw it coming.
On February 13, 2017, the brother of one of the world's most feared dictators was killed in broad daylight at Kuala Lumpur International Airport — not by trained assassins in the shadows, but by two ordinary women who believed they were filming a prank video. What unfolded was one of the most chilling, meticulously engineered political assassinations of the twenty-first century.
How Did North Korea's Leader Assassinate His Own Brother? is a propulsive, deeply researched true crime narrative that pulls back the curtain on the dark machinery of authoritarian power. With the precision of an investigative journalist and the tension of a political thriller, Adrian Wolfe reconstructs every layer of this extraordinary case — from the Kim dynasty's brutal grip on North Korea, to the psychological manipulation of two vulnerable young women, to the nerve agent that left no room for survival.
This is a story about power and its ruthless cost. About how desperate dreams make the perfect weapon. About a family dynasty that will silence anyone — even blood — to protect its throne. And about a justice system forced to choose between the truth and political convenience.
Gripping, infuriating, and impossible to stop listening to, this audiobook moves at the pace of a thriller while anchored in verified fact. Each chapter deepens the moral horror and raises the stakes — not just for the individuals involved, but for what this assassination reveals about the world we live in today.
Listen if you dare — because the truth is more terrifying than any fiction.
