Sinossi

Set against the backdrop of the American wilderness, James Fenimore Cooper's "The Pathfinder; Or, The Inland Sea" masterfully explores themes of adventure, exploration, and the complex relationship between civilization and wilderness. Written in 1840, this novel features the iconic character of Natty Bumppo, a frontiersman who embodies the quintessential American spirit. Cooper's literary style is characterized by elaborate descriptions and a keen attention to the natural world, often reflecting Romantic ideals. The narrative unfolds within a richly detailed setting that enhances the adventurous plot, blending historical elements with fiction to illuminate the American experience during the early nineteenth century. James Fenimore Cooper, credited as one of America's first great novelists, grew up in a frontier community and was deeply influenced by the landscapes and cultures that surrounded him. His experiences as a sailor and his engagement with the pressing concerns of American identity and manifest destiny provided a compelling impetus for his writing. "The Pathfinder" serves as both a storytelling triumph and a cultural commentary, offering insights into the United States' evolving self-image amidst the frontier exploration and conflicts with Native Americans. I highly recommend "The Pathfinder; Or, The Inland Sea" to readers interested in the American frontier, adventure tales, and the interplay of nature and human endeavor. This novel not only captures the spirit of its time but also poses timeless questions about humanity's place within the natural world. Cooper's voice remains vital and resonant, making this work a significant contribution to the American literary canon.

    The Pendle Witches England 1600's
Book 1 of 7 The Tale of Elizabeth Southerns/Old Demdike
This is the first book in the series and is fictionally based on the true names and part facts of seven of the accused witches involved being sentenced to death mostly, although innocent, and is as follows:
Elizabeth Southerns, known as Old Demdike, was a healer living in a crooked cottage at the foot of Pendle Hill. Skilled in herbal remedies, she was both respected and feared by villagers. One evening, a mysterious boy with coal-black eyes offered her power to protect her family in exchange for her loyalty. Desperate, Demdike accepted a black stone, gaining heightened abilities but at a cost. Her granddaughter Alizon’s curse on a peddler sparked accusations of witchcraft. Demdike and her family were arrested. In her damp cell, weakened and betrayed, she refused the boy’s offer to renounce her family for freedom. Before her death, she cursed her accusers, her spirit lingering on Pendle Hill. Her story became a haunting reminder of injustice, her whispers carried by the wind, ensuring her legacy endured.
This is the first in a series of seven audiobooks in the series and I do hope you enjoy this first instalment, and it's only $3, all subsequent will remain at that price.
I have worked very hard to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes plus, called Haunting Elegy, uses flute and harp to set the scene of witches living life as they could. The closing music ends in a sad way, called Melancholy same instrumental at nearly 3 minutes as the fate that befalls these innocent people awaits them.!
The story itself runs to about 15 minutes, and and is narrated in my own voice.
The Book itself is divided into parts, Opening, The Gift and Curse, The Pact, The Downfall, The Final Curse and Epilogue.

In 1934, a young José Revueltas traveled to Tamaulipas to support the cotton workers' strike in Estación Camarón, which became the basis of his landmark novel Human Mourning. In her own groundbreaking novel, Autobiography of Cotton, Cristina Rivera Garza recounts her grandparents' journey from mining towns to those same cotton fields as it intersects with Revueltas's life in a vivid and evocative history of cotton cultivation along the Mexico-United States border.Through archival research and personal narrative, Rivera Garza chronicles the way cotton transformed the borderlands by reconstructing the cotton workers' strike and reveals how cycles of deprivation and ecocide persist across generations. Deeply personal and politically acute, Rivera Garza crafts a new kind of border novel that tells how a brittle land radically altered her grandparents' lives and the territories they helped develop. An intimate fictionalization, Autobiography of Cotton reveals a rich social history of agricultural colonization, labor activism, environmental degradation, and cross-border migration.

The Navy would not allow this book to be printed unless certain changes were made and I had to call it a work of fiction. The time is 1960; the setting; the Mediterranean Sea, a hotbed of the so called Cold War. that was getting even worst in its intensity. It follows the adventures of a crew that flew on board the Navy's first nuclear bomber the P2V-7 Neptune Patrol Bomber. It gives you, the reader, a behind the scenes look at the anti-submarine intelligence gathering, surveillance, and exercises from the perspective of one crew. To this day some of the events never happened and some of the systems used were later banned by the United Nations. There was a 70 million candlepower searchlight as well as the Julie system which was mentioned. With its earthy humor, Deployment gives an idea of their cool bravery as well as revealing some of the events that did occur were mentioned. Times, dates and locations were purposely kept out.
